Before announcing the arrival of quarterback Luke McCown, which once he passes a physical will force the Jaguars to drop another player, the Jags identified the cuts that were made to take the roster to 53.
Veterans who got the tap include tight end Richard Angulo, safety Marlon McCree, running back Alvin Pearman, tackle Tony Pashos, linebacker Tim Shaw, running back Chauncey Washington, punter Steve Weatherford, defensive back Brian Williams, linebacker Thomas Williams, and long snapper Joe Zelenka.
Eleven first-year players were cut, including seventh-round receiver Tiquan Underwood, quarterback Todd Boeckman, fullback Brock Bolen, safety Michael Desormeaux, cornerback Pete Ittersagen, defensive end Jeremy Navarre, center Cecil Newton, wide receiver Todd Peterson, guard Cameron Stephenson, running back Josh Vaughan, and linebacker Johnny Williams.
And we think that’s all of the moves for Cut Day 2009. Thanks again to the rest of the five-man roster at PFT — Gregg Rosenthal, Tom Curran, Josh Alper, and Evan Silva — for all their great work today.
Then again, I haven’t heard from any of them in a couple hours. I hope they haven’t quit.

The Jags acutally cut their roster to 30 players.
The remaining spots on the bench will be covered by a tarp.
zygi milf … that was hilarious …
The Jags are working hard to get their roster set. They are going to try and put up one hell of a show for their 13,000 fans that attend their home games…
Well done, Mr. Florio & team. Does this mean I can go to bed now?
Hope you got a gazillion hits today. Time to bring on the real season already!
