Michael Bennett finds a home in San Diego

The Chargers haven’t announced their full list of cuts yet, but Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Michael Bennett won’t be on it.

Bennett played very well for the Chargers during the preseason, but his chances of making the roster were in doubt due to the presence of LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles. It seems that he showed Norv Turner and A.J. Smith enough to keep him around, though.

The Charger claimed Bennett off waivers from the Buccaneers last November, but he never played for them during the regular season. He did carry four times for 24 yards in the playoffs against the Colts, however, after Tomlinson went down with an injury.

Acee also reports that veteran offensive lineman L.J. Shelton and defensive lineman Ian Scott are on the list of cuts.
