Practice punt for college game hits Cowboys Stadium video board

We’ve got the BYU-Oklahoma game on for background noise while tracking down the remaining cuts.

The game is being played at Cowboys Stadium, which will be hosting plenty of college games.

And the ESPN announcing crew mentioned at one point that BYU’s punter put one into the video board during practice.

So we’ll leave the game on.  Not because we care about the outcome, but because we want to see a ball bounce off Jerry Jones’ four-sided man-cave centerpiece.

Finally, since this is about college football, we need to remind you to visit CollegeFootballTalk.com to check up on all the highlights of the first weekend of action.

anyone else think Jerry Jones is sitting in the middle of that thing with a golden scepter?

Heh. Every punter, college AND pro, is going to be aiming at this board all year in practice and warm ups.

When a ball actually hits one during a game, then it’s notworthy, otherwise, it’s a waste of time continuing to talk about it. Anyone trying to hit it in warmups can, you just aren’t trying to hit it during a real game, you’re trying to kick for distance and coverage.
Nobody hit it when SF played Dallas a week ago, but yet, not a word about that here though…..
move on, nothing to see here

Florio, it’s kinda creepy that you are sitting around alone writing a blog and watching TV (in your underwear probably) referring to yourself as we. You are one person, Michael. “We” are not watching anything.

You realize that Jones wants you to talk about it, right?

  7. Erdie says: Sep 5, 2009 8:45 PM

Yeah, I’m sure Jerry’s plan all along was to see how many mentions he can get on PFTV

Were not gonna get a blow by blow all season about this right?
Unless you want to start a “video board” meter for how many time hit this season.

    @zachintosh66
You should be shot for giving him that idea……..

I’m waiting for a punter to hit it and knock a piece off and have it land on someone (maybe even Jerry Jones LOL).
    That would be news!

Of course he does. What else would we have to talk about regarding the Cowboys?
Their winning record in the postseason? Roy William’s uncanny ability to catch and run?

for as much shit as some of you give florio…you’re the same people who comment in every post he makes. if you dislike his topics that much, stop coming to this site.

    Yeah Manny……for real!
I have never understood people who bitch about the contents someone’s blog.
Someone got a gun to your head making you read this?

I remember when the Cowboys used to make headlines because of their players. People will just wait until December to start talking about them now — a secular trend since Tony Romo’s bobbled snap and beyond.

I was at the game last night and watched ALL the punts and kicks during warm-ups. The kicker stood directly under the video board at the 50 yard line and kicked the ball STRAIGHT UP. He was trying on purpose to hit the board. It had nothing to do with his “warm ups”. During the game, nothing came within 15 yards of the thing. For ESPN to report such bulls*#t is, while typical, completely unethical. It’s like saying Manny Ramirez caught the last out of the inning and tossed the ball to a kid in the stands and then leading Sportscenter with “Ramirez throw lands in stands!” (Not that they wouldn’t do that)

To see how many mentions he can get everywhere.

“Their winning record in the postseason? Roy William’s uncanny ability to catch and run?”
Good point, there are a lot of things that you could talk about regarding the Cowboys. Nobody really gives a shit about the comparative hovel the Eagirls play in, their average post-season record (19-18) or their all-time losing record (488-530-26, currently 10th worst in the NFL at .479).

Sure he does, he needs to sell tickets, and his team sure isn’t getting the job done.
    Next; topless cheerleaders.
