Rams get rid of two running backs

We already mentioned ex-Rams receiver Ronald Curry’s contract termination.  St. Louis has now announced the rest of its final cuts, and the latest moves include the releases of safety Todd Johnson and wide receiver Tim Carter.

Defensive tackle Adam Carriker (shoulder) was moved to injured reserve, ending his season.  The Rams waived linebacker K.C Asiodu, quarterback Brock Berlin, defensive tackle Antwon Burton, tight end Eric Butler, defensive end Ian Campbell, linebacker Dominic Douglas.

Other releases inclu offensive tackle Renardo Foster, fullback Jerome Johnson, cornerback Cord Parks, safety Mark Rubin, guard Roy Schuening, center Tim Mattran, offensive tackle Phil Trautwein, wide receiver Sean Walker, and running backs Chris Ogbonnaya and Antonio Pittman.

Pittman’s St. Louis stint lasted two seasons.  His inability to contribute consistently on special teams and passing downs sealed his fate.

The Rams could always revisit the Ahman Green idea, but for now have only Samkon Gado and Kenneth Darby behind injury-prone starter Steven Jackson.
