Stay with us all day for the roster cuts

Today’s the day that the NFL cuts its rosters from 75 to 53 players.

Some teams have gotten a head start on the process, to varying degrees.  The Cardinals have already taken care of business, getting all the way to 53.  (Apparently, Ken Whisenhunt has plans to attend a barbecue today, or something.)  The Steelers have made their decisions, but have kept most of the names under wraps.  Most teams that have made some cuts still have more cuts to make.

We’ll be posting the cuts all day as they come.  The stories will be dropped into the Rumor Mill, but they also will be posted to each franchise’s team page, the list of which is at the bottom of the front page of the site.  (So if you miss a few hours of mashing the F5 button — and shame on you if you do — it might make sense to check your favorite squad’s team page in lieu of scrolling through the Rumor Mill.)

So have a great Labor Day weekend, and remember to make PFT a part of it.  As you watch college football (Notre Dame hosts Nevada on NBC at 3:30 p.m. ET today), don’t forget that the man’s version of the game is coming in only five days.

The “man’s” version? OK, I’m not going to say that NCAA players are better or anything, but there are a lot of “men” in the NFL and just “guys” in the NFL… just as in college.
Someone like Chad Ochocinco would be a “guy” and a guy like Aaron Kampman would be a “man”, for example.
Either way, I’ll be F5ing all over PFT, so thanks dudes.

The Bears have been informing many players they are being cut. Including Rod Hood.
