Trufant to PUP list highlights Seahawks roster trimming

Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant won’t be able to play until November 1st after the team placed him on the Physically Unable to Perform list. He’s been bothered by a back injury since the second day of training camp. That likely helped Travis Fisher avoid the axe as the team made their way down to 53 players.

Actually, it’s 52 players until they make things official with Lawyer Milloy. The shuffle that brought Milloy back to his college town and sent Brian Russell packing was the other big news to come out of the Seahawks cutdown day announcements.

The Seahawks settled their kicking battle by releasing Brandon Coutu, which means Olindo Mare will be the guy trying extra points and field goals. The only other name that really jumps out from the cut list is safety Courtney Greene, a seventh-round pick in April who was the only member of the draft class not to make the roster.

The rest of the Seahawks cuts: Safety Jamar Adams, defensive end Baraka Atkins, guard Brian De La Puente, cornerback Marquis Floyd, tackle Na’Shan Goddard, wide receiver Mike Hass, cornerback Kevin Hobbs, wide receiver Jordan Kent, fullback David Kirtman, linebacker D.D. Lewis, running back Devin Moore, cornerback Nate Ness, tight end Joe Newton, wide receiver Logan Payne, linebacker Dave Philistin, tackle Andre Ramsey, tackle William Robinson, quarterback Jeff Rowe, wide receiver Courtney Taylor and guard Cory Withrow.

I am kind of bummed they let Devin Moore go. I think they should let Justin Forsett start and Devin Moore be his backup. Hope they put Moore on the practice squad.

They really needed Devin Moore on this team, WTF?
The Hawks should also make a play for Dominic Rhodes.
