Vikings shake their Booty off the roster

First, he gave up his number for Brett Favre.  Now, John David Booty has given up his job.

The Minnesota Vikings have waived Booty, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com.

The move means that the Vikes have opted, for now, to keep Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels on the roster behind Favre.

If Booty clears waivers, he likely will be signed to the Vikings’ practice squad.  That said, he could choose to sign with any other team’s practice squad.

Including the Packers.

Booty was a fifth-round draft pick in 2008.

Man, clearing developing players out in favor of old guys just yells “we better win now”. But if they don’t……

Jackson earned the #2 spot and he better get it. I don’t care how much more Rosenfels is making.

If he does go to GB, I hear that jersey #4 is available.

lol, like booty was ready to step in in a year or two. No loss, QBs like Booty are a dime a dozen.

Like it f**king matters…. with Chilly and Bevel calling the plays we will be as predictable as the sun rise and sunset. Ever wonder why Reid ran the offense at game time in Philly.

If he stays in the league it will not be GB

    packerswin,
You can go ahead and have Booty. The guy is horrible!!!! He has not done anything to show he will ever be even a backup in this league. I am so happy the Vikes got rid of him so I can stop hearing the racist ass fans in MN talk about how they should keep Booty instead of T-Jack. I mean come on people. Just because he is white and from USC that does not make him good!!!!

You cut Brian Brohm and think a weak armed Booty is an improvement? ROFLMAO
Booty doesn’t have what it takes to play in this league.
You only develop players who show promise.

Tarvaris is lucky to have a job. I do give him Kudos for his performance this PRE-SEASON though.

Now we just need to trade Rosencopter.

It was so weird, I was hoping the Vikings would keep Jackson. I am happy Chilly didn’t break up with Jackson.

I don’t think we’ll trade any of our QBs. We’ll be going into the season with our most stable trio of QBs in quite awhile. That’s a GOOD thing. Not a detriment.
