Bears add seven to practice squad

The announcements from the various teams of the contents of their practice squads arrived on Sunday afternoon as I was trying to get out the door for a family reunion.  So I was forwarding the e-mails to Gregg Rosenthal faster than a Nigerian prince who has $20 million and not a single American bank account into which to deposit it.

And while Rosenthal and Tom Curran did an admirable job of picking up the slack, some of the announcements were lost in the cracks.

One of them listed the seven players whom the Bears have added to their practice squad.  The new arrivals are:  guard Johan Asiata, defensive end Ervin Baldwin, quarterback Brett Basanez, defensive end Joe Clermond, center Donovan Raiola, fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou, and cornerback Woodny Turenne.

What exactly slipped through the cracks? I haven’t read anything of substance since you’ve returned, Florio.

You were forwarding the e-mails to Gregg Rosenthal faster than Adewale Ogunleye?
