Foster part of Texans practice squad

Fantasy leaguers looked at undrafted Texans running back Arian Foster and thought he might turn out into a good vulture: a player that steals short-yardage touchdowns from the team’s starter.

The undrafted bruiser from Tennessee didn’t make the Texans roster after an injury-plagued preseason, but he may get his chance eventually when Steve Slaton’s backup suffers his annual injury.

Foster was one of eight players named to the Texans practice squad Sunday. The others: linebacker Buster Davis, center Brett Helms, defensive end Darnell Jenkins, defensive end Jesse Nading, cornerback Mark Parson, and tackle Adam Stenavich.

Davis was an early third-round pick by the Cardinals in 2007, but is on his fourth organization.
