It’s predictable that an agent would publicly defend a client who finds himself in an off-field jam. (Then again, some agents opted to keep their heads low and mouths shut in response to such situations.)
In the case of Broncos rookie tight end Richard Quinn, his agent has opted to speak out.
“When all the facts come out, people will find out Richard’s done
nothing wrong,” Peter Schaffer told Mike Klis of the Denver Post. “Richard’s No. 1 concern right now is the welfare of his
daughter and to avoid any negative light brought to the Denver Broncos,
Richard and his family. . . .
“Richard did everything he was taught to do [through various NFL rookie
programs that deal with potential off-field situations] to defuse an
otherwise irrational person and he’s the person sitting in jail,”
Schaffer said.
Quinn maintains his girlfriend attacked him physically, and he admits that he took her cell phone from her. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning, and he presumably will be released thereafter.
WTF with these Bronco’s and being in the news for all the wrong reasons lately?

Seriously. That is what the off-season is for idiots. Guys screwing up in preseason/start of the season amaze me. Bad way to start the season.
I thought you were a Lawyer?, didn’t they teach you they are all innocent.
Very few people behind Bars are guilty if you ask them.
This is getting much worse these days in the NFL vs days gone by. They should teach these kids more than how to play football while they are in school.
Another Big bad NFL player accused of roughing up a woman ? Well that hasn’t happened in hours.
what a bunch of hoopla!!!
1) Bitches are crazy.
2) Fix the log-in system.
3) Comment ratings – bring the back.
change the turd watch counter from days to hours
You missed an opportunity for a My Cousin Vinny reference here.
“How does your client plead, Mr. Schaffer?”
“Richard did everything he was taught to do [through various NFL rookie programs that deal with potential off-field situations] to defuse an otherwise irrational person and he’s the person sitting in jail,” Schaffer said.
You’re kidding…
You mean to say that NFL players haven’t figured out how to deal with other people on their own, like the rest of us, and need some NFL program to ‘splain it all to them?
After the many disasters that have been the Bronco’s offseason, the person I feel the worst for is Brian Dawkins.
gbsparks, i agree, the nfl has all kinds of programs to teach the rookies how to deal with people. what a success just ask plaxico, pacman, henry, etc etc etc …..
the program i used when i was a young adult and knew everything about everything and was bulletproof to all things harmful, my program ….. parents ….. thanks mom and dad
@ phootballphreak
U mean parents actually teaching their kids about decent behavior and how to mix in with society
What a concept!!!!!
