Jags sign Kynan Forney, Brian Russell

In a last-minute effort to improve the quality of the roster, the Jacksonville Jaguars have announced the acquisition of two veteran free agents.

Joining the team are guard Kynan Forney and safety Brian Russell.

Forney was cut last week by the Chargers; Russell was released Saturday by the Seahawks.

The move reunites Russell with defensive coordinator Mel Tucker; Russell played for Tucker in Cleveland in 2005 and 2006.

The Jaguars also waived offensive lineman Dennis Norman, a veteran backup.

Whoa! What’s this, a post without a Twitter link? Are you going back to your good old days? Or maybe you just slipped up on this one.

I realize Jacksonville is very hot early in the season, but Russell’s contract is going to totally blow the water boy salary curve.

What, no Viking Mike Tice mention?
Russell had 9 picks in ’03 under Tice, not to mention he gave Brian Russell a shot anyway.
And will ALWAYS be remembered for pushing Nate Poole out of bounds when he clearly would’nt have gotten the other foot down as it was on Russells knee! And gave the Packers the division!
    Dumbass.
    Oh, and Del Rio rules!
See Vikings 1992 defense, Del Rio.
