Timmons expected to miss opener

The Pittsburgh Steelers will start their title defense without one of their starting defenders.

Inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons, struggling with a high ankle sprain, didn’t practice at all for the Steelers over the last three days and is not expected to play.

Timmons split time in the middle with Larry Foote last year, but Foote is now in Detroit.  Keyaron Fox will start for the first time since 2006, when he was with the Chiefs.

Usually a special teamer, Fox’s run-stopping abilities will be tested against Chris Johnson, LenDale White, and the Titans.  Tuesday’s injury report indicates that the rest of Pittsburgh’s squad is healthy and raring to go for Thursday night.

As are we.

Why do you people insist on interjecting yourselves into your stories??
    “As are we”
    “And we couldn’t be happier”
    I don’t care!

“Raring” – is that a new injury report status? I think the NFL should add it to, you know, seperate the enthusiastic from the simply compliant…

I think that is Habinskie’s way of using reverse psychology to let us know that he really does care, or he wouldnt have taken the time to log in, write a post, and submit it for all of us to read……

You’re right ben. I immediately regretted losing those 7 seconds.

Actually Fox is playing the run better this preseason so it might work out better. We’ll see.

Drinking game for the opener: slam one everytime the announcers bring up the Terrible Towel story.

I love how this guy won’t be playing because of injury and nobody is claiming he’s not hurt bad enough and that he just doesn’t want to face Tennessee’s running attack and get himself run over.
But Nate Washington has a hamstring injury and every myopic Steeler homer here claims that he is faking it so he hasn’t got to play VS his old team.
It’s this sort of cheap rhetoric & double standard that makes me loathe blind homers the most…
