Colts rookie receiver Austin Collie has enjoyed a nice week. First, he watched his old college teammates abuse Sam Bradford and the Oklahoma Sooners on their way to a top-ten ranking.
Now he's been named the third receiver for Indy's opener against the Jaguars.
Collie was competing with Pierre Garcon for the job, and the two are expected to share the role. Garcon can play on the outside when Anthony Gonzalez moves to the slot, but it appears Collie will play between the hashmarks in the team's base formation.
Colts coach Jim Caldwell was careful to stress the decision wasn't permanent.
"This particular game as we see it today - and I stress today - Austin Collie is going be sort of the third guy," Caldwell said.
We congratulate Collie, and think there could be an opportunity to sort of have a good game against Jacksonville and their thin secondary.

What the hell kind of a wishy-washy half-assed statement is that by Caldwell??? All that did was instill a lack of confidence upon everybody.
That is not exactly the type of decisiveness and leadership a head coach in the NFL needs to be projecting.
It's a good thing they have Peyton Manning to lead the ship because with that sort of a statement I can say right now....Caldwell is NO LEADER.
I can't believe the COlts have a WR named Pierre Garcon-it sounds like a Seinfeld character friend of Kramer.
