Stewart, Beason not on injury report

The arrival of the first Wednesday of the regular season means injury report season has started around the league.

Like last season, teams won't say whether a player is probable, questionable, doubtful or out until Friday, but they are required to disclose a player's participation level in practice.

The Carolina Panthers released their first injury report Wednesday, and it surprisingly didn't contain Jonathan Stewart or linebacker Jon Beason.  Stewart and Beason returned to full practices, and their status for Week One isn't in doubt.

Stewart missed virtually all of training camp with a sore Achilles, a plan recommended by Carolina's medical staff.

"We just didn't want it to be a month during the regular season," coach John Fox said.  "The good news is it was a month during the preseason. That was the plan, and if we had our druthers that is the way we'd prefer it. . . . I thought [the medical staff] handled it right, and he was out practicing today."

Fox went on to say that Stewart and Beason "looked really good" in practice, welcome news for a team that had a rough start to training camp.

Carolina opens with Philadelphia in one of three matchups this weekend that includes two playoff teams from a year ago.  (Miami vs. Atlanta and Thursday night's opener with the Titans and Steelers are the other two.)

Was checking out the506.com and noticed alot of the country is being force fed Min@Clev or Dallas@Tampa instead of this game that will be much better. We know Cleveland and Tampa are bad. The late game is Wash@Giants, unless your unlucky enough to be in an NFC West market and don't have the package.
May have to DVR the Miami/Atl game while I attend Car/Phil.
