Does Mangini not get T.O. tweets?

Eric Mangini and the Cleveland media engaged in a “don’t ask, don’t tell” session on Thursday regarding the identity of the Browns opening day starter at quarterback.

A day after Terrell Owens tweeted his congratulations to Brady Quinn and Mangini’s locker room leaked like a sieve with the news of who the starter would be Sunday against the Vikings, Mangini appealed to the assembled reporters to not pepper him with questions about who would start.

“In terms of the quarterbacks, I really don’t have anything to add to what I said yesterday. I hope you can respect that,” said Mangini, who, it should be noted, said on Tuesday he’d selected a starter but wasn’t telling.

So the reporters didn’t ask who the starter would be. They just fired off questions you’d logically ask if you knew Quinn was the starter, like, “What’s the best thing about Brady Quinn’s game?” and “Is Brady Quinn a natural born leader?”

But Mangini kept up the ruse, taking care not to lavish Quinn with praise he didn’t also flip Anderson’s way. It’s kinda comical and you can check it out on the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Brown’s blog.

Although Tony Grossi, who’s been covering the Browns since Lou “The Toe” Groza was a boy, said he wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Mangini still did something unexpected on Sunday at the quarterback spot. “You never know with this guy and that’s the way he wants it,” said Grossi.

I wonder if Mangini would actually flop, and start Anderson instead of Quinn just to prove to everyone that nobody knows what he going to do?

not only that but watch BE’s interview on 09/10/09 the reporter was asking him how excited quinn will be on sunday knowing he’s the starter from day one.
he said something like “it’ll mean alot to him with all the hype coming out of ND, knowing he’s the guy and for the team it’ll will mean he’s the guy now”
then as if to completely remember he wasn’t supposed to say anything he said “whoever that guy may be”! so not only is mangini coming across as a complete douche, he’s having his players as well!
does mangini REALLY think he’s STILL making mini prepare for two QB’s?!? what an idiot!

Bill Parcells disciples each became their own coach with their own style. Each taking a bit of the Tuna with them.
Belichik disciples keep trying to imitate him and fail miserably.
