Polamalu out for rest of Thursday night

The Steelers blocked a Tennessee field goal late in the first half Thursday night, but they might happily trade the three points if they could get back the services of safety Troy Polamalu, who hurt his knee on the play.

Polamalu will miss the rest of the game with a knee injury.  Rut Roh.  You never want to play doctor when watching on television, but the injury did not look pretty.

Linebacker Lamarr Woodley returned in the second half as expected after missing some action with craps cramps.  (One of the better typos of my career.)

Guys like Polamalu and Bob Sanders just aren’t meant to have long careers with their style of play, but they’re indispensable when healthy.

  30. Worst Poster Ever says: Sep 10, 2009 10:54 PM

    LOL @ TSE
I hope that was a joke.

  31. TSE says: Sep 10, 2009 10:56 PM

Oh I see you edited it. Also, they did not have a FG blocked, they had a FG attempt blocked. You can’t have a field goal until after it passes through the uprights and is scored as a goal.

  32. ErikInHell says: Sep 10, 2009 11:03 PM

At least we’ll get to see polamalu talk about his hair all season.
