Despite whispers that Cards receiver Anquan Boldin had decided that, after 18 months of trying unsuccessfully to get a new contract, he no longer would play while injured, Boldin won’t be missing the regular-season opener on Sunday.
According to Steve Wyche of NFL.com, Boldin is active and will start for the Cardinals as they commence their defense of the NFC West crown against the 49ers.
But it remains to be seen whether Boldin is effective, or whether he’s simply a decoy for other wideouts on the team.
The game begins at 4:15 p.m. ET.
