Colts might be needing Marvin

The post-Dungy era continues to get off to an inauspicious start in Indianapolis.

Per our friends at Rotoworld, Colts receiver Anthony Gonzalez left Sunday's game with an apparent knee injury.

Per Rotoworld:  "Gonzalez went down in a heap without any contact, collapsing about a yard off the line of scrimmage on a running play.  He had trouble putting any weight on his right leg coming off the field."

A league source tells us that there had been no communication between the Colts and receiver Marvin Harrison regarding a possible reunion.

That could soon be changing.

If you watch replay closely, you can see Gonzalez was actually shot in the knee.

The Colts needed for Gonzalez to be big this year. They're screwed if this is more than just a sprained knee. If it's major they have major problems. The guy is a key in their offense now that Marvin "HandGun" Harrison is history.

Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon will be more than adequate replacements.

    Marvin is NOT coming back.

I doubt Harrison will be back with Indy.

Matt Jones is still available. It's too bad for Jones that Tony Dungy hasn't been counseling him. (Of course, that didn't make Indy want to sign Vick but this is a little different.)
The Colts might have signed Jones already if he had been mentored by Dungy. Who knows? They may, anyways...

Bill Polian confirmed there will be no contacting Marvin Harrison, not that we should start listening to him now. The Colts need a talented WR, Gonzalez, should be considered at this point a backup at best and a bust for a number one pick, he's done for the year, the Colts have a history of never rushing anyone back, and they way he fell....I'm pretty sure its worse then you think or is being told. At this point, they really should trade Bob Sanders and a pick for a premier reciever and quit F@#$ING around. Bob is damaged goods but I'm sure teams will line up to take him, like the Bears, Eagles, Redskins, Chargers, Chiefs, Rams, Panthers, and Saints....Do it and get it right this time, time is ticking and we are getting sick of the Colts just getting by with number 18 slinging the ball and seeing his face after a wrong route, drop pass, or interception because his recievers have alligator arms.
