Jets-Texans one-liners

The Jets defense gave up little to the Texans offense in the 24-7 victory and only allowed them to get as far as the 35-yard-line.

A big part of that effort was the job CB Darrelle Revis did against Texans WR Andre Johnson, who finished with four catches for 35 yards

Former Jets QB Joe Namath shared some words of wisdom with QB Mark Sanchez, who completed 18 of 31 passes for 272 yards, before the rookie's first NFL start.

Jets wide receivers Jerricho Cotchery and Chansi Stuckey, subjects of criticism in the offseason, combined for 10 catches, 154 yards and a touchdown.

After the game, Jets players spoke about how fired up they were following coach Rex Ryan's speech to them on Saturday night.

Said Texans coach Gary Kubiak, "You play that poorly, it starts with the coach. I didn't have them ready to go. We were dominated across the board."

Texans QB Matt Schaub refused to use his sprained ankle as an excuse for a performance that resulted in a 55.5 passer rating.

One of the most damning parts of the Texans defensive performance was their inability to stop the Jets on third down.

Texans S Dominique Barber had the team's lone highlight, scooping up S John Busing's fumble following an interception and returning it 48 yards for a touchdown.

Texans DE Mario Williams had seven tackles but, like the rest of the team, was shut out in the sack department.
