Unlike his predecessor, Giants rookie receiver Hakeem Nicks has dodged a bullet.
Nicks doesn’t have a Lisfranc injury in his foot, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.
The determination was confirmed via an MRI exam.
As a result, Nicks is stil expected to miss only 2-3 weeks.
And since this is the first possible Lisfranc injury of the season, this is the place where we point out that the joint is named for a French doctor and field surgeon, who served under Napoleon. As it turns out, riding horses often resulted in injuries to that area of the foot, thanks to the stirrups.
