As a Vikings fan, I find the injury to Urlacher to be a shame. Like someone above posted, you want to go out and wipe the floor with the best a team has, not a bunch of scrub backups. It’s one thing to cheer against a team, but to wish injury onto them is pathetic.
Fortunately, from what I’ve seen, the Vikings fan on this site makes up the majority of fans that real fans are ashamed of. This site just happens to be a cesspool of NFC North trolls, with only a few exceptions. You know, the types that use a bridge collapse that killed fathers, mothers, and children to talk crap against a rival team.
As far as the rivalry argument: Rivalries are created by the fans, not the ages. Fans change, generations change, and so do rivalries. I, personally, feel as though the Pack/Vikings rivalry is much stronger, but that may just be the perception I had living in Superior, WI as a Vikings fan a few years back. But again, who cares who’s rivalry is stronger? I would say that the North has the strongest 3-way rivalry in the game. I live in Washington, and my local sports bar has an “NFC North Corner” designated for NFC North games. And none for any other division. What does that tell you?
Then again, since the Vikings always wipe the floor with the Bears (including the Vikings first game, ever), I’m not sure you can call it a rivalry.
