Portis is a part-time back

During training camp, the Redskins said they were going to use Ladell Betts a lot more this season.  In Week One, they actually did it.

Betts was on the field for 39% of the team’s 49 offensive plays, while Clinton Portis was on the field for 49% of the plays.

We’ve given Portis a hard time in the past for complaining about playing time, so we salute him accepting the new order quietly this time around.  Perhaps he’s happy because he’s still getting the ball plenty when he is on the field.

Portis had 18 carries in only 24 snaps, gaining a total of 72 yards from scrimmage.

Look for Portis and Betts to both get more plays overall this week at home against a Rams team that provided little resistance to the Seahawks in Week One.

So basically your making a story where there is not one? Why not break down the skins offensive series when they were backed up in their own endzone? Portis run 3 times?
Whats the definition of insanity? Continue to do the same thing and expect different results?
Hey Zorn, show us something on offense…

Talk about a misuse of Portis this week.
He played 24/49 snaps, and had 18 rushing attempts.
Betts played 19 shaps, and had 2 rushing attempts.
Can the Redskins make it any easier for opposing defensive coordinators?
HAY GUYS! PORTIS IS IN THE GAME, STACK THE BOX!
HAY GUYS! BETTS IS IN THE GAME, PLAY THE PASS!
sheesh. Not gonna win the division with that kind of playcalling, boys.

why in the world would anyone pick betts to be in the game over portis? There is a reason why betts resigned for only $5M. He cant get more anywhere else because he isn’t worth more.
Has everyone forgotten two years ago, giants at washington, skins down by 4 with 10 seconds left on the game. 3rd and goal from the 1. Hand off to Betts, 1 yard loss. 4th and goal from the 2, 5 seconds left in the game. hand off to Betts, 1 yard loss. End of the game, skins lose.
why he takes touches away from portis blows my mind.
also, the skins offense sucks. so, its usually third and long, meaning we need to throw the ball. portis is one of the best blocking backs in the game, why he would be on the side lines for that scenario blows my mind.

    That’s good game planning.
When Portis is on the field, there’s a 75% chance they are running the ball.
Let’s see how well that works out in the long run.

Of course Portis is keeping quiet, he is on the road to Miami right Florio…BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The Redskins played pretty well on Sunday. It was obvious that Campbell is a pussy and is afraid to run the ball. He seems to be second guessing himself. Is he hurt? He doesn’t play like his life depends on it. So how can the other guys around him? Redskins could easily have scored more points with a quarterback who has balls. As much as I hate to say it, they need someone like Mike Vick.

I constantly hear people use that insanity line. That’s not the definition of insanity, its just a quote by Albert Einstein.
Speaking of which according to Einstein I’m insane because I continue to hit the remember me box when I log in, expecting it to actually remember me.

Deadskins are done….$100 million for what?….G-Men still moved the ball on them at will….Deadskins will again finish dead last in the NFC East….Synder is a Jerry Jones wanna be without the 3 Championships!

Actually cowboysfan#1 Fat Albert played pretty well other than the fact the he got tired, but its only week 1. Wait until 11.22.09 when his fat ass lands on Romo and then ask me if the $250,000 per quarter was worth it. Hes getting double teamed hes doing what hes supposed to, its the other guys that need to step up.
It was only week 1 against the Gmen whom alot of the media has already “crowned their ass.” (and yes they are who we thought they were.) Lets at least wait a few weeks before we throw the season away and fire the coach.

    Washington in the Super Bowl.
Aye, controversial picks are fun, but have some logic for a legitimate controversy.

Campbell plays like his mother is leaning over his shoulder telling him to be nice. There’s no fire to him. I’d like to see him walk over to Snyder and kick him in his billionaire nuts.

the redskins played one of the best teams in the nfl and still kept the game very close. the cowboys played a team my high school football team could have looked good against. the eagles had no comp on their opener as well. so please stop knocking the skins at least we played the nfc east winners and not some chumps. i will admit campbel, zorn, betts, and our o-line need to go. but next year no cap and danny will have tom brady or p manning under center for us

there’s something hilarious about a brokeback fan cracking jokes on the skins. let’s see, it was your jackass owner that gave up the farm for roy williams AND signed him to a fat contract. haynesworth is arguably the best dt in the nfl and btw, he’ll NEVER see that $100 mil you and these other idiots keep talking about. williams wasn’t/isn’t even a top 15 receiver…so tell me again who should be criticized for their move. also, i absolutely LOVE how your team in it’s glorious new stadium was facing a possible blackout LMFAO!!! i know it would’ve never happened since jerry would spend his own cash to avoid the embarrassment. too late though.
