Runyan has another visit to make

The placement of Eagles right tackle Shawn Andrews on injured reserve has sparked obvious, and thus rampant, speculation that long-time fixture Jon Runyan will be rejoining the team.

Per a league source, however, Runyan will be making no decisions until after making at least one more visit.

Runyan, who had offseason microfracture surgery, already has visited the Chiefs and the Bills, and Runyan has worked out for the Eagles.

There also has been no negotiation to date between the Eagles and Runyan on a possible contract.  Of course, that could change quickly.

Another option could be veteran Damion McIntosh, who as we reported last night is visiting the Seahawks today.

Does this have anything to do with John Madden?

Philly fans will welcome him back with open arms. Last year, Tra Thomas was more of a liability in pass protection anyway. Big Jon is tough, he would bring back some good veteran leadership to the Eagles locker room

Maybe the Pack should schedule him for a visit?!!!

the eagles don’t do that. i’ve never seen them sign a veteran to replace an injured starter. they replace from within. it’s winston justice’s job, for better or worse.

Get him back on the roster…it just wouldn’t feel right when the Eagles are celebrating their SuperBowl win if Jon Runyan wasn’t there…he’s earned it.

After watching Cornell Green’s predictable bone-headed performance, the Raiders need to throw their hat in the ring. Of course, they could be the team that Runyan passed on last week.

Except when the veteran has played the last 11 seasons with the birds.

I think I have to agree with Chris, bringing back Runyan as anything other than depth is unlikely. They’ll leave Justice out there until he shows he can’t get the job done. If he fails, they’re more likely to move Stacy Andrews out to the edge and plug in Gilles in at right guard.

Runyun needs to join the Lions and get the UofM line back… it’s 2 of 3… need Runyun at LT, moving Backus to LG… Jansen to RG.
