Gonzalez targeting Week Seven return

Hank and Kendra Baskett’s stay in Indianapolis should last at least a month.

Colts receiver Anthony Gonzalez is reportedly targeting a Week Seven return to the lineup from a knee injury. Colts coach Jim Caldwell said the injury could force Gonzalez out of the lineup for up to eight weeks, but Gonzalez is hoping to return sooner.

SI’s Peter King tweeted that he believes Gonzalez has a sprained PCL. The Indianapolis Star confirms that the third-year wideout won’t require surgery.

Peyton Manning will earn his money early this year, especially until Gonzalez gets back. Look for the team to involve backup tight ends Gijon Robinson and Jacob Tamme into the passing game more, in addition to young wideouts Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie.

The Colts offensive line struggled to get any push in the running game against the Jaguars, so Manning will have to carry the offense without a full deck. His pass protection at left tackle may also be the weakest the Colts have had since Manning arrived.

The schedule makers have helped the Colts out, though. Indianapolis heads to Tennessee in Week Five, but this week’s trip to Miami is the next toughest defensive matchup before Indy’s Week Six bye.
