L.T. is O.U.T.

Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson, who entered the season with a burning desire to prove that he has not become an injury-prone, over-the-hill tailback, is well on his way to becoming an injury-prone, over-the-hill tailback.

Tomlinson has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Ravens, due to an ankle injury suffered on Monday night against the Raiders.

Also out for the Chargers with an ankle injury is center Nick Hardwick, along with defensive end Travis Johnson (groin).

Linebacker Antwan Applewhite (hamstring), guard Louis Vasquez (knee), and defensive tackle Jamal Willams (arm) are questionable.  Tackle Marcus McNeill (hand) and punter Mike Scifres (groin) are probable.

That’ll show that damn Adrian Peterson who’s boss.

All those clicks you hear are for Darren Sproles being picked up in all leagues.

whats up with the “continue reading” link??? read what, Florio??

Whoever had Week 2 in the “LT gets injured and gets listed as ‘questionable’ for the rest of the year, tormenting fantasy owners to no end,” please step forward to claim your prize.

Hey, with respect to L.T., I live in San Diego, although not a huge fan of the Chargers, I support the team for the AFC, and after watching that game, it’s no wonder he was hurt, that game was VIOLENT. Both of those teams were fighting like mad to win, it made some of the other games that weekend look like walks in the park. So, I’m not going to give L.T. the “You’re weak and pathetic” treatment, like so many of you other bozo’s are screaming. The guy is a consummate player much like Mr. Farve, if only he had the iron-man capabilities as Brett, but don’t count out the Chargers by any means, the fact is there is not one team that can scheme to deal with Sproles, he is unlike any player that in in the league, plain and simple.

Excuse me, but if the real L.T. was injured, he’d fire up the crack pipe, get his ass out there on the field and play his ass off. L.T. is Lawrence Taylor.
Please stop disgracing his legacy by referring to this fraud as L.T. Either Ldt or Ladyanian would suffice.

  9. sevendollarbologna says: Sep 18, 2009 4:54 PM

The guy is not worthy to use “L.T.” gloss, the real L.T. was not on the side lines during playoff games, & did not cry & whine when his team got punked! It’s time strip the nickname!

  10. florio's_mom says: Sep 18, 2009 5:01 PM

He’s gunna sit on that bench better then Peterson can.

  11. Yamchargers says: Sep 18, 2009 5:07 PM

    To bad about LT.
At least I dont live in Pittsburgh. Ill take an underachieving team over one of the sh*ttiest cities in the NFL.
Or maybe the sh*ttiest. Really, what cities are worse?

  12. CHILDPLEASE says: Sep 18, 2009 5:14 PM

China Doll…Done until week 6. He was the best back in the league dont get get me wrong…4 years ago. He is getting injured and taking longer and longer to heal. Sproles is not an every down back his size cannot take a full game of pounding. Just a coincidence that LD..not LT Lawerence Taylor…will miss Baltimore,Miami and Pittsburg. He’ll be back for Denver and KC and hurt again vs the Raiders. Count on it.

  13. TheWizard says: Sep 18, 2009 5:16 PM

Belichick would have traded him 2 years ago.

  14. Fan_Of_ Four says: Sep 18, 2009 5:17 PM

The stay at the top of the heap is fleeting for RB’s nowadays. Adrian Peterson best enjoy it while he can.

  15. realityonetwo says: Sep 18, 2009 5:18 PM

    Please stop disgracing his legacy

I don’t think the “real” LT needs anyone’s help. He disgraced his own legacy long ago…

    Exactly, sevendollarbologna.
Calling this pansy “LT” is a disgrace to the man who played his heart out his whole career.
    The real “LT”, Lawrence Taylor.

  17. Twiz says: Sep 18, 2009 5:27 PM

LT is *NOT* well on his way to becoming an injury-prone, over-the-hill tailback, he *IS* an injury-prone, over-the-hill tailback.
Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce to you the *BEST* running back in the league by far……..
    Adrien “ALL DAY” Peterson

  18. jkorn1818 says: Sep 18, 2009 5:29 PM

The real LT has been out a while ago, he’s a retired linebacker. Enough is enough with this nickname, he can’t hold a torch to the real LT. Lawrence Taylor used to play with a broken leg, broken arm, dislocated shoulder etc etc. Granted he was on crack, but he was still dominant. The charger fans have the nerve to hold signs saying “the real LT” The real LT would never sit on the bench during a playoff game and pout, nor would he be a sore loser like tomlinson was after that playoff loss.
Ask Theisman who the real LT is. Stick to chunky soup.

  19. Opinionated Fool says: Sep 18, 2009 5:37 PM

I don’t think LT not playing will have as much effect on the outcome of the game as Suggs, Reed & Zbikowski not playing (or playing injured).

  20. jkorn1818 says: Sep 18, 2009 5:40 PM

just ask bilichick and parcells who they think is the greatest player ever. Please, Lawrence Taylor was faster than tomlinson, Sims was the fastest player in football with the Lions and taylor caught him from behind and he had 10 yards on him…Plus, what crack addict is strong enough to hit like he weighed 350 pounds.

  21. SlaughterMan9565 says: Sep 18, 2009 5:42 PM

The “real” L.T. is Lawrence Taylor? For Real? He was so awesome, he broke so many records… oh wait he broke some dudes leg and is and was a drug fueled psycho. Sounds about right.
Remember LT is an amazing back. He may need to retire, but check the record books folks.
    Maybe you need a refresher.
Peterson may or may not get injured, but when he does, is he going to be washed up? injury prone? probably. When he gets hurt you will on jump on someone else’s bandwagon and claim you were their fan before they came into the league.
    Raiders fans, still venting.

  22. DildoBaggins says: Sep 18, 2009 5:42 PM

    Ouch, sucks for Fantasy Owners.
Geez LT – week 1? Kinda early, even for you.

  23. Hap says: Sep 18, 2009 5:45 PM

They beat LT to death in SD. And now all they have is a shell of his former self. It’s a shame they didn’t have anybody to share the workload he was carrying. He coulda been good for a while longer. He’s spent.

  24. wearingmythinkingcap says: Sep 18, 2009 6:09 PM

Sorry about Tomlinson. But I still think of Taylor as LT. And for those who keep ragging on his past: Getting clean from a crack addiction takes more toughness than anything the guy did on the field.
Yeah, Yamchargers, San Diego is a beautiful city. But Steeler Nation is a lot bigger than one city. I hear there’s a pretty big Steeler community in your town, too.

  25. DSLives says: Sep 18, 2009 6:19 PM

Yamchargers – Poopsburgh may be the worst city in the league, but Cleveland is almost an equally bad stain on the map.

  26. SD_CD says: Sep 18, 2009 6:24 PM

Haters Please. LT will be smokin’ fools for a long time to come. An ankle injury is an ankle injury. He can sit out a few games while everyone else gets beaten up, then come back fresh for the games that count. Now take a seat.

  27. daffy87 says: Sep 18, 2009 6:25 PM

Tomlinson said he was out this season to prove that being 30 doesn’t mean you’re on the downslide of your career as a runningback. He played like crap against Oakland and now is already out week 2. Not exactly driving his point home is he?

  28. stopwhining says: Sep 18, 2009 6:47 PM

LT is not a nickname. It’s initials. No one owns it but people whose initials work out to LT. If the real LT wanted ownership of a nickname, he should have gotten a real nickname.

  29. Ginostugats says: Sep 18, 2009 7:06 PM

Seriously, Enough with who is the real LT. he only gets that because his damn last name is too damn long to say….Secondly He is a great running back, when he is healthy…thats just his problem is all he gets injured all the time…its not “tarnishing his legacy” or anything, he’s is not doing coke or anything like the other LT….he is just hurt…. Maybe one season he will play the whole way, but looks like not this year….PS he is also a better athlete and faster than all of YOU…even hurt.

  30. trixstal says: Sep 18, 2009 7:27 PM

  31. dethdude420 says: Sep 18, 2009 8:06 PM

    child please
IMO SD would have lost the game anyways. I just wish number 21 was in the game, I don’t want to hear “the Ravens only won the game because of injurys”

  32. Cj34 says: Sep 18, 2009 8:06 PM

    @ Opinionated Fool
Suggs & Reed are both playing. They both practiced today (full participaton) and will start. Zbikowski will more then likely not play but as he’s the fourth safety that causes a depth issue more then anything else.

  33. diggitydown says: Sep 18, 2009 8:31 PM

Too many LT haters out there. It’s so easy to get on the bandwagon to hate the people that are elite. Has LT lost a step?? yes…but he’s still going to be a dominant force this season.
Even my good friend Jesse Logan, who writes on a website that I help him with, has an “LT hate” article (check out: http://www.GoHuddleUp.com). I almost deleted it, but at the same time I felt everyone has their opinion…even if they’re wrong!!
GO BOLTS!! GO LT (on week 3).

  34. Jimsjam33 says: Sep 18, 2009 9:11 PM

Time to retire L.T. ! You don’t have the fire anymore . Give somebody your spot that can help the Chargers , Now !

  35. MasterShake says: Sep 18, 2009 9:19 PM

LT is such a good sport, he is going to make both sides of the argument happy. He is officially changing his name to viente-uno.
    Have a nice day!

    Good luck with all that!

You’re either too young, and therefore ignorant, to remember the real “LT” or just plain ignorant, SlaughterMan9.
    See the difference?
Taylor changed the game to what you see now, jackass.

I am not surprised that he is sitting out. I have a gut feeling that his ankle is hurt more than we realize. Given how few games he has missed over the years, he was bound to miss some games given his age.
