Steeler-hater said: "Ask any Colts fans how many of those "apology" letters their team has gotten from the NFL (a sh*t load) and how many times their team has gotten the benefit of a bad call (very few times)... none that I can personally remember and none in any big games.
The Steelers get these calls most of the time, especially in big games. "
Last I remembered the AFC divisional round was a pretty big game. And they blew the call on the Polamalu int. You have to admit that. And that was my point you over-zealous nut. That bad calls happen to every team.
You want to talk about the Colts getting screwed? In the 2003 AFC championship game Rodney Harrison and Ty Law were interfering on every passing play. There! You happy?
I know the refs always blow calls. And I say the steelers were on the rotten end of it this time. Just like every other team has been at least once. But that would be a lot for you to admit, seeing as how you are crazy.
And that Tennessee game that you keep talking about--the one where there could have been a safety because of holding--that play happens every time a team is within the ten yard line. It is feasible (that is if you could see past your overwhelming bias) that holding could be called on an interior lineman on every play. I don't even care about a center or guard holding because they rarely ever call it. I get mad when this happens:

@ "LebronJeremy says: September 20, 2009 7:28 PM
Anyone else notice the absence of a shielding penalty on the Bears on Pittsburgh's final possession? Yeah that pretty much would have changed the outcome of the game.
I can't wait to hear the apology for blowing that call."
Anyone else notice the absence of blatant helmet to helmet penalties on the hits to Olsen twice, Hester, and on the Kellen Davis TD. Or the BS unsportsmanlike conduct call on Mark Anderson to keep that drive going in the 3rd?
That blown call crap works both ways....

wow, steeler-hater, your stupidity knows no bounds. The fact that you can make a totally inaccurate comment about the Steelers always getting calls their way, just shows how little you have watched football in those 32 years. It saves you from looking like an idiot on a national message/blog board. You must be a Ravens fan, and if so, I'm sorry.
Pittsburgh is often given the benefit of any close or questionable calls.
Their opponents have to clearly beat them most times because if it is a close game, it seems that the Steelers always get that "lucky break" {wink, wink} they need in order to win.
Like those missed calls in the Titan game that kept Tennessee from winning the game in regulation...

@steeler-hater: If it's not right for Steelers fans to whine about calls that don't go their way, then why is it okay for you to whine about the ones that do go their way? From the looks of it, you're not much different from the very people you speak out against.
-------------------------------------
Because the Steelers get WAY more calls in their favor (and at the most important times) than any other team I have ever seen in all my 32 years of watching NFL football.
If the number of plays (good and bad) were pretty even then there would be no discussion. But it ain't. Pittsburgh gets the lion share of the questionable calls made in their favor, especially in the playoffs/Super Bowls...

Florio, you get some credit for eating this one.
Bears D looks real. God bless Rod Marinelli, and Hoke too, whose flying under the radar. Tillman turned in another great game and Bowman didn't disappoint. Al Afalava looked sloppy at times, but his energy and technique are exactly what we need. I guess the offense did well, too... unlike last week they took advantage of an aggressive pass rush. Can't wait to see how we look against a 4-3, when Forte actually gets some looks in space.
Johnny Knox is my hero

As a Steelers fan, of course I am not happy they lost a game that they could have won, but it happens. The Bears played well enough to win, so congrats to them. JR missed a couple field goals when he is usually reliable and Holmes dropped some key passes. It was nice to see some decent runs however.
No team is going to go undefeated in a season these days, and a loss will sometimes result in lessons learned that will benefit you down the road. And last time I checked, they don't award the Super Bowl trophy after the second game of the season.
But wow, some people sure are happy that the Steelers lost. Some folks here are giggling like little girls! It is pretty funny, I guess that is what jealousy does to you when another team has 6 Super Bowl trophies or about 14% of the grand total of all time that have ever been awarded.
GO STEELERS!

And last time I checked, they don’t award the Super Bowl trophy after the second game of the season.

I love seeing people jumping all over the Steelers just cause they were handed a loss. And I'm a huge Steeler fan, and I agree they lost the game themselves. It's one game though. People just ripping on the Steelers, just because they're jealous of the greatest franchise in NFL history, just cracks me up. It's a rarity when the Steelers blow teams out of the water, even slouch teams like the Raiders. But all that matters at the end of the day and the end of the season is that letter W, which they didn't get yesterday. But it's not the end of the world. We'll bounce back. We'll be alright. But even if we finish with a bad season, us fans, true Steeler fans won't take away from another team going out there and winning the game, which is what the Bears did yesterday.
From a Bears fan:
It was a good, close game. Just as Cutler had a bad day in Green Bay I empathise for the Steelers' kicking game. Jeff Reed's normally very consistent both both attemps were clearly blown.
Also glad to see Cutler settle in, he looked much better this time out. Seeing him spread the passing game around instead of trying to key on a few receivers proved worthwhile.
Very impressed with Johnny Knox. Too bad his long reception of the night was called back on a penalty.

Steeler-hater,
May I refer you to the Polamalu-Colts interception that was over-turned in the 2005 divisional playoffs?
Or how about the Charger's game last year, when they overturned a touchdown that led to an 11-10 score?
Or what about when they played the Vikings when Cowher was the coach and the officials called 12 men on the field when there were only 11?
Ryan Clark got flagged last year because he hit a receiver too hard.
In 2003 alone, the league apologized to the Steelers for poorly calling 3 games.
And even my best friend, who is an avid Browns fan acknowledges that James Harrison was either making the play or being held last year. So be realistic.
Bad calls are always made, and I have a right to complain about a bad non-call that may have cost my team the game, regardless of whether or not your bias permits you to see visual evidence of a bad call being made. So just drop your hate-affair with the Steelers because it makes you look like a foolish hack when you say something like, "Oh all the calls go their way. Every single call; I wish my team had that many Lombardi trophies."
------------------------------------------
Ask any Colts fans how many of those "apology" letters their team has gotten from the NFL (a sh*t load) and how many times their team has gotten the benefit of a bad call (very few times)... none that I can personally remember and none in any big games.
The Steelers get these calls most of the time, especially in big games.
Just ask Seattle fans about that Super Bowl. It was so poorly called there was wide spread talk (outside Pittsburgh, of course) of a conspiracy by the NFL to give Pittsburgh the title since they were much more popular a team than the Seahawks were and a Steeler win would be considered more of a benefit for the league... kinda like how the MLB would rather have had the 2001 Yankees win the title than the Diamondbacks. Difference is that the MLB's umpires didn't blow a bunch of calls in game 7 in order to try and give the Yanks the title...

To say the "face guarding" call was a blatant foul and blown is a joke. The call could have gone either way, but the hand went up just as the ball was coming down and was not directly in the receiver's face. He still could have caught the ball but didn't. Let's not forget the key drops Holmes had in the game that, if caught, very well could have put the game away for the Steelers .
As for other "blown" calls, the Bears were on the receiving end as well. Knox had his jersey held beyond 5 yards and that wasn't called and don't forget the time Olsen was lit up with an obvious helmet-to-helmet hit that negated what would have been a huge catch and ended up stalling that drive for the Bears. While a bad missed call, I certainly wouldn't have blamed a Bears loss (if the game had gone the other way) on that single play.
Also, to say the Steelers lost the game because Polamalu wasn't there is silly. Did you forget Urlacher was out as well? Or Tinoisamoa? Or that they lost Dvorcek in the preseason?
Fact is, balls can bounce either way (that's what she said) at any time and calls are missed that should or shouldn't be made every game. The game is played and officiated by humans. Don't forget, the Steelers missed many opportunities to win throughout the game. The Bears simply made more plays at crucial times and the Steelers ran out of time. End of Story.

It's just a shame the 49ers and Denver didn't lose. It would have been a clean sweep!
Anyhow, way to go Bears!!!
Its nice to see a Raider fan out on parole enjoying the game.

Last week the official in the end zone saw the Steeler o-lineman commit a holding penalty in the end zone but the ref failed to throw the flag and call a safety.
The whole nation saw it and from the video, it proved the ref saw it too but failed to throw the flag.
Pittsburgh has a long history of getting the calls. Just ask the 1995 Colts about the time Kordell Stewart was running out of bounds in the back of the end zone (which the refs saw) and he came back into the end zone and caught a TD pass which should have been disallowed.
Or the TD pass Mike Renfro caught for the Oilers in the 1979 playoffs which the refs called out of bounds when it was clear that he got both feet in. Or how (by 1972 rules) Franco's catch (The Immaculate Reception) was an illegal play and should have been blown dead. The only reasons the refs didn't flag that play is because they feared for their safety. They thought the Pittsburgh crowd would come after them & hurt them if they made the proper call so they let Franco's illegal play stand. One of the refs said this was the case years later in an interview about that play.
For Steeler fans to ever complain about bad calls is ludicrous. Your team gets sh*t handed to them all the time. Questionable calls in Steeler games almost always favor the Steelers, especially if the game is an important one...

Get off of this "Cowboy" fan act.
They lost and that is all.
The Bears could have beaten the Packers last week but they did not and that is the way things go.
No whining.
What part of this game makes you think that the Steelers dominated the game and the Bears were just "lucky"?
Time of possession was almost identical.
3rd-Down efficiency was identical.
Total plays were almost identical.
Average gain per play was almost identical.
Average yards per pass were almost identical.
The Steelers had fewer penalty yards while the Bears were better in the red zone.
The Steelers had more rushing yards while the Bears had more passing yards.
The Steelers had 32 more total yards but the Bears had more sacks and the games only INT.
What game were you watching and what are you bitching about?
It was an evenly played game and the Bears just made the plays at the end of the game to win it.
