When Matt Hasselbeck collapsed like a misshapen Jenga tower while walking off the field on Sunday, it didn’t look good.
And though there’s no internal damage to the Seahawks starting quarterback, the new is still not good.
Hasselbeck has a broken rib, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Schefter says it’s unknown whether Hasselbeck will be able to play on Sunday, when the 1-1 Seahawks host the 1-1 Bears.
The backups are Seneca Wallace and Mike Teel.

Hasselbeck has said on his Twitter account that he hasn’t even seen the doctor yet. So where this information is coming from is not from him or the team.
just play you f’n wuss, farve doesn’t even have ribs…..
He better sit this one out, for his own good.
How does a broken rib not constitute internal damage?
Good.
Apparently Hasselbeck has an exoskeleton.
McNabb now Hasselbeck, maybe these guys should start wearing some sort of protection for their ribs…
So when does Favre make a statement that he’s playing with two broke ribs?
he actually broke his own rib after the game after seeing the BEARS beat up on Roethlisberger.
Maybe he can call Andy Reid for some extra sticky rib sauce.
@jusford
He will wait until his third comeback next year, when he wants to both make excuses for his poor play in late 2009 and blame Chilly for it.
First McRib, now Hassel-backbrace…
Tough loss for Seattle, but bonus for the Bears.
As long as QB’s keep diving with their backs exposed like these two examples, the more busted ribs you get. I hate that, getting a nice slab of ribs, smothered in bbq sauce, hot, spicy, then you get the broken rib. Bullshit I tell you.
Ruskell and Mora missed the biggest opportunity in years. “Got Sanchez?” There’s always Tebow in next year’s draft.
