Justin Tuck wants to "punish" Flozell

Nearly a decade ago, Cowboys tackle Flozell Adams described as “ludicrous” a fine of only $7,500 that was imposed on then-Vikings defensive end Duane Clemons for punching Adams in the crotch.

Applying that same standard to Adams, he should be fined a lot more than $7,500 for his blatant trip of Giants defensive end Justin Tuck.

In the first half of Sunday night’s inaugural game at the North Texas Football Cathedral, Adams threw out a padded tree trunk with a shoe at the bottom of it to stop Tuck, who tripped, fell, hurt his shoulder, left the game, and didn’t return.

I think it was bush league,” Tuck said after the game, per Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.  “He did it a few times in this
game.  Unfortunately he got called once. . . .  I’d like to have had the
rest of the game to punish him for it but that didn’t happen.  As far as
it is for me, it’s over with.”

Tuck will have all of their next game — on December 6 in New York — to punish Adams.

Maybe Tuck will also punch Adams in the crotch.

Florio it’s sickening the way your tone changes when writing about your beloved Giants.
Falsestart Adams just sucks and he has to do crap like that to compensate; he did it to Osi in the game too.
    Statline of the Week:
    Kolb > Romo :D

It was a cheap shot by a bum Tuck had him beat and he took a very dirty shot that put Tuck on the bench.
That should be a huge fine and maybe a week or two off with out pay
Though in the end it did not matter Giants win Giants win
Romo again shows he can not win a big game

Even without Tuck for most of the night – Tony Homo managed to throw 3 picks.
Even with DeMarcus Ware – Eli Manning still shredded the Cowboys D and played homewrecker for a night.
What will the GMeN do without Plaxico Burress?
Enter Super Mario… and will the REAL Steve Smith, please stand up?
Cowboys still suck – and now they can’t even get it done in September!

Maybe Tuck can get Channing Crowder to kick Flozell’s ass.

  5. Branephood says: Sep 21, 2009 7:46 AM

Tuck should just shut up and stop his bitching before Flo decides to punch him in the mouth.

  6. Quagmire says: Sep 21, 2009 7:53 AM

With a name like Flozell, it can’t be good.

  7. mws says: Sep 21, 2009 8:10 AM

LOL Flozell would crush little Tucky.

  8. FireJerryJones says: Sep 21, 2009 8:23 AM

Too old and slow to play any more.

  9. Krow says: Sep 21, 2009 8:30 AM

Dirty team… dirty player. No surprise.

  10. AirlineGuy says: Sep 21, 2009 8:32 AM

So does that mean he would like to “punish” his teammate that was flagged for the same thing in the 4th quarter?

  11. Timo22 says: Sep 21, 2009 8:40 AM

Being that Flozell actually tripped him on his shoulder… yeah… Osi and Tuck are injury prone and this is just par for the course. Zero sacks last night!

  12. Levito says: Sep 21, 2009 9:02 AM

Flozell has no class, kinda like the rest of the Cowboys. He should be fined and be forced to miss at least as many snaps as Tuck missed/will miss.
Something tells me that’ll be Tuck’s motivation and he’s gonna torch Flozell next time.

  13. SlaveToBankers says: Sep 21, 2009 9:03 AM

Flozell should have been called at least twice for tripping in that game (in addition to his other fouls). Let’s be honest, he’s a classless, dirty, over-rated POS…which means he fits right in with Dallas.

  14. VoxVeritas says: Sep 21, 2009 9:07 AM

Waah. Big talk from a JAG DE. Flo shut Tuck *and* Osi down, as usual. Two combined tackles for those guys. Osi hasn’t had a sack against the Cowboys since 2006.

  15. Zaggs says: Sep 21, 2009 9:26 AM

The league needs to revisit the injury time out rule in the last 2 minutes. The Giants should not have been made to take a timeout because Adams is too fat and slow and purposefully tried to injure Tuck. Dallas should have been made to take the timeout.

I’m not a Giants fan…but you did see the final score…right?

If he makes it that far.

If Tuck needs more motivation than pride and paycheck, he’s not worth much in the first place. Flo’s shut much better guys than Justin Tuck down.

Oh no, the dreaded trip. That’s right up there with sneaking a chainsaw into a pile.

It’s a lot easier to do when the refs don’t call holding or tripping, even though that’s the ONLY two ways he shuts ANYONE down. Refs did their best to give Dallas the game, but with the 30th ranked defense, the Boys just couldn’t stop the NY passing attack – which, according to you and dozens of other “experts”, NY didn’t have without Plax. So, seeing how awful NY’s passing game is, what does it say about the Dallas secondary that they got shredded for over 300 yds passing? And what does it say that Dallas D line, who according to you has the best players – Ware and Ratliff, couldn’t get a single sack? 1996, Vox. 1996.

Its unfortunate that the play resulted in an injury that allowed the Cowboys to run in Flo Holds and Trips Adams (man has made a career of it and does not mind one bit) direction for the rest of the night. But cosmically bad karma resulted in a Tony to Witten shoe interception for Kenny Phillips on the drive.

  22. jcasey says: Sep 21, 2009 10:21 AM

Hey Vox, it’s too bad that you couldn’t find someone to trip Eli, Mario or Steve, or, in your opinion, shut them down. Better yet, maybe you should find someone to trip Romo!

  23. VoxVeritas says: Sep 21, 2009 10:34 AM

“I’m not a Giants fan…but you did see the final score…right?”
Yeah. What does that have to do with some comments from a JAG DE that had little to do with the final score?

  24. VoxVeritas says: Sep 21, 2009 10:35 AM

“It’s a lot easier to do when the refs don’t call holding or tripping”
Waah. The Giants won and you’re still crying like a little girl.

  25. Harley Guy says: Sep 21, 2009 10:53 AM

I agree with Zaggs regarding the time out the Giants were forced to take in the final two minutes of the first half. The Cowboys had just completed a long pass down the middle of the field that was nullified by the tripping penalty on Flozell Adams. The penalty stopped the game clock. Had Adams not tripped Justin Tuck, there would not have been an injury on the field. Although the penalty was called on the Cowboys, the Giants received the stiffer punishment. They lost a player and a time out.
I’m neither a Giants or a Cowboys fan, but this rule needs to be reevaluated.

  26. DanSnyder says: Sep 21, 2009 11:01 AM

Woo… Cowboys lost. Hell that was more a bright spot then a win against the rams.

I remember one winter in 07 when Adams didn’t trip or hold, he had his hands full when he couldnt stop Osi in that second half of a playoff game.

  29. ChicagoJo says: Sep 21, 2009 11:43 AM

I’m with Tuck all the way… no one wants to see that type of crap. Can’t wait for Tuck to wreak havoc 12/6, hope he’s not hurt too bad.
Florio, I like this angle just wish you’d make similar posts for the other 31 teams. and, no, that doesn’t include Twitter plugs

“I remember one winter in 07 when Adams didn’t trip or hold, he had his hands full when he couldnt stop Osi in that second half of a playoff game.”
You must have been watching a different game because Osi had two tackles and no sacks in that game.

LOL at Vox. What a loser.

  32. tim8282 says: Sep 21, 2009 12:01 PM

It’s really not a dirty play. Not much different from holding. The guy beat you, you hold him. The guy beat you, you trip him. It was a fluke that he got hurt on the play.

  33. jkorn1818 says: Sep 21, 2009 12:42 PM

when did i mention sacks? He put a lot of pressure on Tony and forced a lot of bad throws.

vox…remember last thursday when you said that there would be five giants fans at the game?
well, they want to tell you that they had a wonderful evening.
by the way, putting someone on the bench because of a dirty play is just not right.i truely believe that you are above taking delight in that scenario.

  37. octokevin says: Sep 21, 2009 7:11 PM

A trip is really the same as holding. It was just a freak accident that tuck got hurt on it. If tuck had gotten up and didn’t get hurt, then not one person would’ve said anything about flozell tripping. It’s tripping people, you guys are acting like flozell committed the worst crime imaginable. Suspend him? For tripping? Get a grip.
