King: McNabb unlikely to play next week

It’s been a long, fun ride on this second Sunday of the 2009 football season. Heck, it’s not even Sunday anymore.

Before we sign off for the night, we’ll leave you with one final nugget as the news cycle spins forward to Week Three.

NBC’s Peter King reported after Sunday night’s game that Donovan McNabb was not expected to play in Philly’s home game next week against the Chiefs.

Kevin Kolb is expected to get the start, and the Eagles will have a ten-play package to work Michael Vick into the game.

Based on that report, it’s fair to expect Jeff Garcia to take most of the snaps if something happened to Kolb.

Andy Reid will update the situation at his Monday morning press conference, and Florio will be updating all the news from around the league well before that.

Thanks for spending your Sunday with us; it’s time to get a ride home.
