Patriots-Jets one-liners

Said Patriots CB Shawn Springs following the 16-9 Jets victory, I don’t think that’s talking trash if you do what you say you’re going
to do. Isn’t that like being
a forecaster
, like on The Weather Channel? [They said,] the storm is
coming, and it came.”

Patriots WR Julian Edelman had eight catches for 92 yards in place of injured WR Wes Welker, but he was targeted 16 times overall with Edelman and QB Tom Brady sharing the blame for the eight misses.

Patriots QB Tom Brady passed Steve Grogan to move into second place on the franchise’s career passing yardage list.

Patriots WR Randy Moss was quick to play down the notion that Jets CB Darrelle Revis was more responsible than the general defensive scheme. for keeping him in check.

The Patriots took two delay of game penalties in a row in the third quarter and committed 11 infractions overall.

Jets coach Rex Ryan gave the home crowd a game ball for being loud and involved throughout the contest.

The Jets defense never sacked Brady, but consistently applied pressure to contribute to his poor game.

Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery had four catches for 87 yards and said after the game that he delighted in proving his naysayers wrong.

After a dismal first half, Jets QB Mark Sanchez threw for 148 yards and a touchdown in the second half.

Said Jets TE Dustin Keller of the Jets defense, “By the end of the season, this just might be the best defense in the NFL.”

This may have been the best game of the day, even with the low score. NYG-Dal was good, but this one was pretty sweet to see ole Rexy put it to the Pats. You gotta hand it to them, they did exactly what you have to do to beat Brady…apply non-stop pressure and have solid secondary play. Brady is notorious for throwing balls he shouldn’t to avoid a sack, and it was proven in this game. Of course, we never talk about that because he does so many good things to outweigh his hail mary tendencies.
Great game. I am happy for Buddy Ryan 2.0.

Hats off to the Jets. Their D is for real and they played a great game. No Welker really hurt, not to mention no running game. Time to activate law firm and give him a shot. Also time to cut Galloway and give someone else a shot. He is washed up. Looking forward to round two. It should be a good one.

Congratulations to the Jets and their fans. They played a good game. This is only week #2 and it is a long season before proclaiming any team a Champion. Most Jets fans know that September and October have been good to their teams before but it matters what happens in November and December, as they experienced first hand last season.

Cheatriots – no better than a third-place finish in the division. (Prediction that I made EARLY in the past offseason.)

  5. blackglass says: Sep 21, 2009 12:31 PM

Man, I wish someone would say “Cheatriots” to my face so I could kick thier ass for being so stupid. But naturally, no Jets fan ever says crap to me

  6. KaiserSoze says: Sep 21, 2009 12:33 PM

..and once again, after a loss, BB & Brady just ran off the field without congrats to the winners. Sanchez tried to approach BB but he just blew him off.
WTF is the matter with them?

Never mind the end of the season, the Jest might have the best defense in the league right now.

  8. mikey says: Sep 21, 2009 1:20 PM

Jets best defense right now? Are you kidding me, yeah the Jets won and shit but they beat a team who is a shadow of their former selves, pats played the worst ive seen since 2000. So don’t crown them just yet. As for Brady and BB leavin the field….. is it in the rules you have to congradulate the “winner”? nope. sorry, i wouldn’t either

This years Franchise QB had a different view of that, as he said him and Tom Brady had a very good talk after the game. ..”
    that still doesn’t explain Belichick.

A Pats loss sure does bring some interesting things crawling out of the gutter.

Is that the same storm that Ocho predicted last week? ‘Cause he was either a week early or completely wrong. Ocho can kick, but he’s no weatherman.

    You’re absolutely right.
Showing class is not in the rulebook.
    Thanks for pointing that out.

Just another sore loser douche Cheatriots fan…

can we stop with the damn Cheatriots and Bellicheat crap? what are we, 6? i’m a jets fan and hate it. and if brady and belichick want to walk off the field without congratulating the winners, fine by me, let them look like sore losers.
i have an idea, pro football talk… let’s talk about pro football, not some off-field bullshit. i personally don’t care if my coach is obese, or if he breaks some stupid rules to get a slight advantage, or has a son who’s a drug addict, or if my quarterback kills puppies or kittens or humans or whatever. can we not just talk about the damn game for once?
i go to youtube for reading 6-year-olds’ comments and trolling nonsense… i thought there’d be at least a few grown-ups on here.

Belichek’s lack of congratulations to Ryan can be categorized as “F-you”. But can you blame the guy from not congratulation a guy how has been talking smack about you the the last couple of months? I can’t.

All said and done the Jets just gave Brady a beat down. All teams will follow the blueprint that the Giants laid out and the evil empire will fall.

The prob. w/this is not every team has the players to do it, if they did every team would do it every wk to every team they play, dumbass!!!

It appears somebody needed to clarify that for you.

I see there are some class fans on this site after reading the some of the comments.
And yes, we do have the best defense in the NFL. I know, it’s week 2. But our D has held the Texans in Houston, 12-4 record at home the past two seasons and third ranked offense in the NFL last year, as well as the Patriots at the Meadowlands, 8 straight victories and the 5th ranked overall offense of last year (without Brady) to 9 points collectively.
The only touchdown the New York Jets have yet to give up was on an interception, and subsequent fumble, that was returned for a touchdown.
All this without our best pass rusher last year, Calvin Pace (80 tackles, 7 sacks and 5 FF in ’08). I can’t wait to see what he can bring to the table after serving his four game suspension.

  23. mikey says: Sep 21, 2009 10:53 PM

Pats will be alright and still win the division and then all you Jets fan will go back under your rock

  24. Patsfansince73 says: Sep 22, 2009 12:16 PM

First off, the Jets blew their collective load in the second game of the season. They will only be a shadow of themselves for the rest of the season. On November 22nd, they will be the ones to be “embarrassed”.
What many of you Patriots haters fail to realize is the simple fact that this is a team that had to rebuild in the off season. There are many new players at key positions and they have not yet jelled as a cohesive unit on either side of the ball.
Don’t expect it to take long for that to happen though. I expect within the next couple/few weeks everything will be as it should in the great Patriots nation. I have faith in the system that is here and all you haters will be hating even more.
This TEAM (not an assembly of players with other agendas) will be such for years to come. When someone leaves for other areas there is another to take the place. And for those haters out there, how many of your teams players have jumped ship, taking less money to be here? Yeah, they know where the real football is at and where those with the winning attitude are at (not just on the field either, so don’t shoot back with the “well were have they been in the past few years?” crap because there is a hell of a lot more to being a professional in the NFL than just bringing it on game day).
Keep hating haters, live like you just won the Superbowl Jets fans, because when this season is over, this past weekend is as close as you are going to get to being there.
Haters to submit crap in 3-2-1……
