Zorn confirms Thomas is headed for IR

Florio, right again. Redskins right guard Randy Thomas has a complete tear of his right triceps and will be placed on injured reserve, Redskins coach Jim Zorn said today at his press conference.

“He felt it pop so we’re going to get that repaired,” Zorn said.

Thomas, 33, is in his 10th season. He signed a six-year deal with Washington in March of 2007 that carries salaries of $3.7, $3.1 and $4 million over the next three seasons.

Utility lineman Will Montgomery stepped in for Thomas on Sunday. For a Redskins team that is sputtering in key situations, the loss of the talented Thomas doesn’t help that cause.

We just asked former Redskins left guard Pete Kendall, who is currently a free agent, whether the Redskins have contacted him and if he’s interested in playing again.

“No and yes,” Kendall replied via text message.

As a die-hard Skins fan I would like Zorn to accompany Thomas on the IR because Coach Zorn has a problem with his brain, or lack thereof.

Florio’s right again? Curran, do you even read PFT?
Here’s what that first item said: “Ryan O’Halloran of the Washington Times reports that starting guard Randy Thomas, a fixture since jumping the D.C. as part of the Jets exodus in 2003, could be lost for the season. …” So Florio (with the usual typo) was right in repeating what someone else reported?
If you’re going to self-promote, which is fine, at least wait until PFT actually breaks the news (which it does occasionally), not just regurgitates it (which it does a lot).

That loud sucking sound you hear is Curran, not the Washington football team. Well, it’s both actually. How does Florio get credit for being right when all he did was repeat someone else’s story (with proper citation to the source)? That other sucking sound is internet journalism and it’s standards.

I am the biggest of skins fans, and probably smartest too. I told danny boy to get linemen via this internet portal to his office over and over, to no avail. millions for penaltyperweek deangelo hall, millions for fatboy haynesworth to play half the plays in between sucking O2 on the sidelines, and nothing for drafting any of the big time o linemen that have come out the last few years. Signing undrafted free agents to start on the offensive line is why campbell can’t do what he’s supposed to.
    Signed Vince Lombardi

    What he said.

I thought Vince Lombardi was dead. Wow, where is the De Lauren. Does MJ still have Parkinson’s?
