Jags churn wideout depth chart

On Monday, we reported that Jaguars receiver Troy Williamson would miss the rest of the year due to injury.

Later in the day, coach Jack Del Rio said that he hadn’t heard that Williamson would be shut down.

Presumably, Del Rio has since heard the news.

The team has placed Williamson on injured reserve.  He suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s 31-17 loss to the Cardinals.

We assumed that Del Rio was playing dumb in order to lure a veteran replacement at minimal cost.  To replace Williamson, however, the Jags have turned to their practice squad, elevating Tiquan Underwood, a seventh-round pick in the 2009 draft.

And Underwood’s spot on the depth chart has been filled by Nate Hughes, who was dropped from the active roster after doing his best Troy Williamson impersonation — on back-to-back plays — during Sunday’s loss.

Del Rio was a fool for cutting Matt Jones, now his days are numbered as head coach.

I can’t help but wonder why it took this long to give Underwood a shot. It’s not like they had a top prospect they wanted to get a look at first.

Is Jack Del Rio his real name or just his porn name?

When will a team from Florida win a game this year? I don’t think it will be this week.

Sniffle, sniffle. We broke that story, darn it, and it took him days to show we were right. We are a legitimate news outlet darn it- acknowledge us!

Maybe they should just sign Plex he’ll put as good of numbers this year and next, as any of there current stock. Don’t forget Marvin is still available sitting at home in his wheelchair.

Birdman, Underwood was on the practice squad because he dropped too many passes in the preseason. Now he’ll get his chance.
Matt Jones had some good games last year, but he’s got a couple strikes against him and his attitude isn’t good. The fact that no other team is interested in him should tell you something.
Give the rookies a chance. It’s time for the Jags to see what they have in Thomas, Dillard, and Underwood.

You may have to switch over to college football for a year.

    Matt Jones? Harrison?

As a Jaguar fan I don’t really want to be known as the retirement home for old WRs, but geez. Maybe we oughtta give Marin a call here. Yeah, Harrison and Holt would have been something else 5 years ago. Now they’d be two former greats that are nearly washed up. But certainly they’d be better that T’quan or D’Quan or Z’Quan or whatever the hell his name is.

The Jags need to screw this year and draft the “holy one”, Timmy Tebow next year and all will be well, right? Not so fast my friends. Relax, this is a “rebuilding” year which means we will have games like we did last Sunday. It was only the 2nd game of the season. We have a lot of football ahead of us. Grab your nuts, go buy a ticket for goodness sakes and go support the team.
