Several years after nearly being groped by a Hall of Fame quarterback and only a week after getting the Gail Cunningham treatment from a future Hall of Fame quarterback, ESPN sideline reporter Suzy Kolber experienced normal, reasonable treatment from yet another future Hall of Fame quarterback.
After Monday night’s come-from-behind victory over the Dolphins, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning had plenty of time to talk to Kolber, only seven days after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady forced Kolber to chase him toward the locker room in order to get a couple of words out of him.
Apparently, Kolber hadn’t been informed by the Patriots that Brady wasn’t interested in participating in the post-game interview.
Perhaps Brady’s wife doesn’t allow him to talk to other women -- and perhaps he fears that her (alleged) goon squad will be responsible for implementing any discipline.
Regardless of the reason, television money pays for a big chunk of the players’ salaries, and television exposure has a lot to do with their ability to generate a ton of money as spokesmen for various goods and services.
So, in this regard, Manning gets it and Brady doesn’t.
