PFT's Week Three picks are posted

Every week, Rosenthal and I prepare game picks, with several paragraphs of explanation, often including a smartass remark or to.

When we do well in a given week, we publicly pat ourselves on the back.  And when I do better than Rosenthal, I make sure I point it out.

This week, however, I'm a bit conflicted.  Overall, we were a so-so 9-7.  So I was inclined not to mention the Week Two outcome.  But yours truly was 6-2 and Rosenthal was 3-5.  So I figured that I could point out the fact that, despite Gregg's efforts to screw the thing up royally, we still finished above .500 due to my stellar prognostication skills.

This week's picks are right here.

So check it out.  Otherwise you'll miss nuggets like this:  "After two weeks of passing more horizontally than vertically, [Vikings quarterback Brett] Favre will be airing it out, the Metrodome will be a-rockin', and the 49ers will wish they hadn't come a-knockin'."

You and Rosie are "pubic-ly patting each other on the back", huh?

I shudder at the image of that.

*Now quick! Go run and fix it before posting the comment!! I LOVE when you do that!*

I guess it's not due to your STELLAR spelling skills...

Mike, I didn't know you had German in you? A naturalist as well?

While I don't question your prefered method of backpatting, it seems strange that you'd admit it here (in front of the new bosses!).

Lions win 24-10 to break the streak!

WOW! EVERY "pro" that "knows" football is picking the lions. Good for them. Take away the huge run from steven jackson on Sunday and Rams barely have any yards in that game. They mustered one drive. Last time I checked, Jackson is twenty fold then any back the lions have on their squad. Calvin johnson will get his on anyone, doesn't matter. Is Ernie Sims playing? I would imagine that should factor. Skins scored over 20 points in the second half against the lions a year ago. Granted the lions are better today then a year ago, the skins are as well. I don't see the lions losing by six in the meadowlands week 1 as the skins did. Skins get off the snyde and bang a 42 spot on those jokers. If the Lions score more then 42, they win. I just don't see it happening. Hail Sucka!

"Of all the coaches and personnel execs who have learned at the elbow of Bill Belichick, none has had the runaway success of Thomas Dimitroff. "

    so he's just another cheater?

Awesome work Florio .... The Redskins go from NFC Champs to the team that gives the rams their first win in the last 19 games. You suck.

    Florio, your a clown.
The Patriots are going to hang 34 points on the Falcons? And the that Patriot defense is going to hold the Falcons to 20 points?
Based on what? Oh yah, never mind, you told me. Becasue "the Patriots simply will refuse to fall to 1-2."
    Nice effort.

Now go back to resting the tip of your knows in the crack of Bilichick's ass.

Wow, picking the games without spreads and going 9-7.

    Weak puke.

i have no idea why im trusting u and changing my pick of the jets losing. but i also dont see the titans going 0-3 realisticly, but again i never thought they were that good last year. hmm.... what to do, what to do

It is very obvious that Brett Farve pays your mortgage Florio, but this nugget was RIGHT ON! The Vikings fans are lathered up like crazed dogs waiting for the home opener of 2-0 AD,Farve and company. The sound will be deafening. Expect Shaun Hill to fold like a lawnchair in this hostile hell. Gores five minutes of fame will be forgotten as he fails and AD gets the revenge against the 49ers he has been dreaming of!!!

What a suprise, week 3 and still have not picked the Cards to win...

Keep it up Florio!!! Next week is a bye week for the Cards, I am sure you will find a way for them to loose.

  18. Sociofan says: September 24, 2009 5:24 PM

You really think the Lions will beat the Skins?

I have a bridge to sell you after the game.

  19. Fan_Of_ Four says: September 24, 2009 6:21 PM

The difference between the Jetsons and the Titans is that the Jets believe and the Titans are in doubt, being its a home Game for NY its J.E.T.S. all the way. I hate Dallas as much as the next guy but they wont be losing this one. I also think the Lions get their first win, they have to be sick of hearing about the losing streak.

Florio says: i did not ask about your hair Rosenthal

Rosenthal says: u asked with your eyes mikey, u asked with your eyes

  21. Leviathan says: September 24, 2009 7:02 PM

Lions over Skins? Ouch. I may have to reconsider your hatred of Dallas being your number one job -- because that's just mean.

  22. 49ERGIRL says: September 24, 2009 7:02 PM

Obviously I don't agree with the 49er loss....but the rest I could see making for an interesting out come.

  23. boltschick says: September 24, 2009 8:33 PM

Yesterday you rank the Bolts #6 and the Fins #23.

Today, you proclaim that the Fins will beat the Bolts IN SAN DIEGO, AFTER A SHORT WEEK.

This seems wildly inconsistent and you are losing credibility with this fan.

  24. slipkid says: September 24, 2009 8:41 PM

i expect the lions to cover. winning is a horse of a different color.

  25. texasPHINSfan says: September 25, 2009 12:22 PM
