Why does race always have to be brought up? It’s clear that McNabb is a better QB. The only reason why Vick is on the 100 list is because he hasn’t played in 3 years. As soon as he starts playing he will no longer be on the list. But let him take McNabb’s spot. Makes it all the better for the other teams in the NFC East.

I think it’s a racial issue going on, M. Vick has proven himself time and time again, and he did his time. Let’s face it some of us can get off with alot of mess…..and then there are some people that comite murder or rape that has that big role mantality and get out with no problem, but we all look at these people to where they can’t or not suppose to make any mistakes, but we are all God’s children. We have to do what is pleasing in his eyes. Lesson is that we don’t judge and that’s his job, Football just like we all have a job that we do. So don’t hate the player hate urself. If you think you can do better, take that up as your trade and throw the ball……

I find it amusing that people think that Vick was the only professional athlete to be associated with dog fighting. That’s as dumb as saying that Bond’s records should be stricken from the record book when he tied the HR record against a guy that was previously suspended for using steroids, not to mention that steroids were at their prime in the late 70′s and early 80′s, the 90′s and 2000′s are just lingering effects. You want to hate something, so you’ve picked Vick in the NFL. He has proven himself a capable quarterback on poor teams with virtually no recievers.

the outrage over the dog fighting is certainly commendable and anyone engaging in furthering that blood-sport should be punished. vick was tried and found guilty and sent to prison.
i find it odd however that that same outrage hasn’t been translated and aimed at other “sports” to the same extent. specifically, greyhound racing, horse racing, boxing and now the cage fighting. the same vicarious thrills that people get from cage fighting fueled the dog fighting.
but get this folks – THEY WERE PITBULLS !!!! they weren’t collies or cocker spaniels.
i’m not excusing vick – but neither am i excusing the people who allow cage fighting to continue.
vick did the crime – he did the time. move on.

I was reviewing the “TOP 100″ NFL PLAYERS list, that was put out by The Sporting News and had HALL OF FAMERS on the panel, you thing stood out.
There was only 1 player on that list that was not a starter. Can you name that player? I’ll give you a couple of hints:
He hasn’t played since 2006
He is an ex-con
So a guy that has not even played in 2 plus years and is a **wink wink** backup is on the TOP 100 players in the NFL, what does that say about you idiots and your RACIST opinions?
NOTE: Tony Romo & Carson Palmer didn’t make the list
Also, there were only 7 quarterbacks to make the list, so that’s 25 OTHER NFL STARTING QBS that didn’t make the list, that does not include the backups.
So let me get this straight, you RACIST say Vick sucks, yet there are 25 starters that didn’t make the list – they must really SUCK

McNabb would seriously have to be geezing with injuries for Vick to replace him long term.
All the hate on McNabb is totally unfounded. That guy has helped his team play better & had years of success, just never got to be #1 at the end of the year.
The ONE year they had top-tier talent at the WR position to go along with their aggressive D & decent running/short-pass game, they went to the Superbowl.
Yeah, he may not be as good as Manning or Brady, but he’s been a consistent top-5 or top-10 QB, depending on the year, for YEARS. That’s better than 2/3s of the league.
Anytime I hear Philly fans ragging on McNabb, I feel like I am listening to spoiled brats who are totally ungrateful.

Even though Romo threw 3 INTs he’s still got a higher passer rating than McRibb and almost double the yards per attempt (McRibb’s 4.4 yards per throw is *terrible* and the lowest of all starting QBs by far). McNabb has thrown one TD pass to a WR in his last five starts!

If you guys think Vick will be the starting QB for the Eagles next year, you’re nuts. As someone pointed out, he doesn’t have the skills to play the west coast offense, he doesn’t have the arm to go deep, and he has a Randall Cunningham-like habit of saying and doing things that are completely disruptive to team chemistry (e.g. the comments noted in previous posts, the Ron Mexico nonsense, and the water bottle incident). Add to that Andy’s commitment to Kolb – even if he never turns into a legit QB, Andy will never admit it by starting another guy. This whole thing is purely a gamble that Vick keeps quiet for a year so they can rob some other QB needy team of a high draft pick.

Let me drop some knowledge on you Mike Florio (PS – loved your story about how Larry Fitzgerald’s little brother’s Twitter account was a glimpse into how disgruntled Fitzgerald was… how do people take anything you say seriously?). Reid brought Vick in for two reasons. Reason 1 – to run his version of the wildcat for one season. Reason 2 – to eventually trade him in the off season for a 2nd round pick. That is all. Anyone who thinks that Michael Vick (even sans dog fighting, even circa 2004 Michael Vick) is a better QB option than Donovan McNabb should have their “journalistic credentials” taken away.
Your “story” is quite convenient. When your “Vick as a starter in 2010″ prediction doesn’t materialize your explanation will be “well, I guess the Eagles assessed Mike Vick’s talent and they didn’t think he could start.” When in reality, the plan all along was to never make him a starter. Trust me, because everything I’ve “seen and heard” is probably just as much as you’ve “seen and heard”. I’m assuming you count listening to 610WIP as a source?
