Lance Moore doesn’t expect to play

The surprise story of the 2008 Saints is finding his encore a lot more difficult.

Starting wide receiver Lance Moore expects to miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury after missing nearly the entire offseason following shoulder surgery.

Drew Brees and Sean Payton’s offense is remarkable because it seems to create massive yardage for whoever they put in the lineup. Devery Henderson, Jeremy Shockey, and even David Thomas have helped fill Moore’s shoes this year, while Mike Bell has stepped up at running back.

Bell is expected to miss this week’s game too, and probably a few more, although it’s uncertain what the Saints will do at running back. Our guess: they likely rotate between Reggie Bush, Lynell Hamilton, and a rehabbing Pierre Thomas.

If the last few weeks (or years for that matter), it usually doesn’t matter who the Saints put out there. They should create plenty of yardage in Buffalo with Brees leading the way.
