Boos rain down on Russell

Though the Black Hole isn’t sold out, the fans in attendance at Sunday’s game between the Broncos and the Raiders are letting the home team’s quarterback hear it.

After throwing his second interception of the first quarter, quarterback JaMarcus Russell was loudly booed.

Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post described the ruckus on her Twitter page as “deafening.”

The surprisingly 2-0 Broncos lead the Raiders, 10-0, through 15 minutes of action.

    Both spellings are incorrect.

Strangely, I live in Sacramento (within the blackout zone), and the Raiders/Broncos game is showing on Sunday Ticket. I’m relatively certain they aren’t supposed to do that.

That fat dope Russell is destined to be a bust. The Raiders just refuse to acknowledge it. He’s obviously a mental midget, shows poor work habits and is an inaccurate/sporadic passer at best.
Big Fat Bust…….bye bye $70,000,000.00 (or whatever foolish sum it is) and 3 or 4 years of wasted time.
Al Davis needs to get out of football operations.

  17. ciarezon says: Sep 27, 2009 5:58 PM

The raiders already have a great TE in Zach Miller. Russell is holding this team back big time. McFadden, Bush, and Z Miller are studs and the Raiders I think can be palyers in the NFL but its becoming apparent they missed on Russell.Times to cut your losses. Take it from a Vikings fan it doesn’t matter how physically talented a player is if they aren’t accurate passers.

Gotta love Raider fan.. The only scumbag worse then you is Philly fan.. And if they had not been booing Santa since 68′, your little incident in the bathroom with Dolphin fan would’ve put you on top the list.. You’re an uncivilized group of people, your mother would be ashamed if she wasn’t sitting next to you in that ghetto stadium sipping a Budweiser through her Darth Raider mask..
That being said, Jamarcus is awful.. I bet his mother booed him today too.. Maybe next time instead of booing, you can all start chanting “Jamarcus has a mangina.” Change it up a bit, get creative..

  23. masterblaster78 says: Sep 27, 2009 7:06 PM

61 yards passing, 1 million dollars per yard in this game. When will the Raiders understand? Russell needs to sit on the bench and eat his nachos and cheese. Get his fat a*s off the field and put a QB in that can pass. He’s an embarassment to the team and to football….

  24. RaiderChile says: Sep 27, 2009 7:24 PM

Russell and McFadden are BUSTS! 2 years from now they will be gone. I’m not a Fargas fan but he should get in there and Bush needs more carries. We’re looking at a new coach after next year and Russell should be done in 2 also. There is nothing to take from this offense. It all sucks and the big guy IS A BIG BUST! LOSERS! Pats will get the number one pick in 2011. What a waste, glad I didn’t pay for tix! RAIDERS STINK!!!

  25. jeffz303 says: Sep 27, 2009 7:25 PM

It’s easy to pile on a guy without knowing what he goes through every week. If you spent one day in JaMarcus’s shoes, you wouldn’t be so fast to crack on him. It’s tremendously hard to play in the NFL with a fat ass and a pea-sized brain. Until you’ve tried it, keep your mouth shut.

  26. IWanttoPunchFloriointheFace says: Sep 27, 2009 7:31 PM

JaBustus strikes again…Al, please hire a coach who can actually design an offense and execute a game plan. I can’t watch anymore – it’s just too frightening, disgusting, pathetic, embarrassing and just downright nauseating.
Please sit this tub of goo on his wide ass and play Gradkowski, it cannot possibly get any worse. Sorry to say, but the Raiders must cut their losses (again) and start over (again) at the QB position. How’s that Paul Hackett mentoring working out?
Now let’s hear all the Raider bashing from all the peanut galleries across the globe…they deserve it.

This sounds like you think it’s the Raiders fault that Russell sucks so bad. LOL.
It wouldn’t matter where Russell played. He sucks balls! The only blame the Raiders can take, is for being stupid enough to draft this guy.
Sadly, the loss to the soon to be overrated Broncos, is not only JaStpuid’s fault, but that of the defense as well.

I once read a Sports Illustrated article about Patrick Roy, the HOF Goalie from the Montreal Canadiens. After his agent got him $1M/yr, he suddenly sucked. It took him a yr or 2 to finally get his game back. In the SI interview, he admitted that the money was messing with his psyche…and that’s PATRICK ROY talking! What do you think is happening with this 25 year old BLINGmaster from the ghetto with $32,000,000 guaranteed? I guarantee you that he can’t play because he’s like a spoiled baby now. He hasn’t had to earn anything, & his feeble intellect will not permit him to understand this one important thing: it’s WAY more gratifying to be a success in life, than to blow your unearned millions on gaudy jewelry, fur coats & rims.

  33. snnyjcbs says: Sep 27, 2009 8:07 PM

The Oakland Raiders are SOFT and play SOFT and have been doing it for a long, long, long time.
They were manhandled and punked at home on both sides of the ball and to say that they were out coached would not do justice.
Everytime the Raiders have a chance to come out and make a statement as they did in this game they fall flat on their face.
This 30 something year die hard Raiders fan is getting sick of it. It is one thing to loose a game it is another to loose like punks.
They need to look in the mirror before they dress and check to see if they have a pair because they have been playing soft for a long, long, long, long time and I am getting sick of watching it.
As for Russell man up and start making plays or get your ass the hell out of town. All you punks have been doing is disrespecting the great Raiders players that lost their share of games but were never punked.
Loose a game I have no problem with that but loose like men not a bunch of punks. I am done with this shit team, I have to walk away before I end up in a funny farm.

  34. jie5688 says: Sep 27, 2009 9:26 PM

JaMarcus Russell is the worst QB to ever wear the silver and black – he is terrible with his mechanics, his reads, and he has no feel for the position. During one play, instead of taking off and running he tried to push a linemen and defender off to give himself room to sit there to throw the ball. HE IS CLUELESS. The Raiders D would have done better if the offense could keep them off the field. And D MAC better learn to hold on to the f”cking football. What a waste of a team we have – pathetic.

  37. IWanttoPunchFloriointheFace says: Sep 27, 2009 10:14 PM

Couldn’t agree more with snnyjcbs…this team has no nastiness to them, they don’t hit hard and miss way too many tackles and have absolutely no killer instinct on either side of the ball.
Just flat out a bunch of overpaid, soft frickin’ pansies that hasn’t matched the intensity of the oppposing team in a long, long time…

Now you see why Kiffin didnt want to draft JR. The most recent QB the raiders had that was descent was Kerry Collins. Collins threw for 300 yards in 5 straight games for the raiders one year only to have the defense fail him.
Look what Collins has done for the Titans. Should have gave Collins an extension. Then draft Calvin Johnson like Kiffin wanted.
Then Keep Kid Kiff who had potential offensively.
Then your talking playoffs. This coming from a NINER fan. Damm might as well make me the GM..

  43. magsdad1 says: Sep 28, 2009 1:03 AM

No one even mentioned the body language of the Raiders offense! They had the look of a group that knew they had no chance.
    This brings up some questions.
1.) How is JRussell still even considered the starter in Oakland?
2.) Was there ever a point in which Tom Cable thought about clocking him?
3.) How can the Raiders consider that field to be of acceptable pro level status?
4.) Is Todd Haley still wondering how the Chiefs could have lost that game? I mean, seriously, thats just not right.
    What a joke.

i know how we all feel raider nation i think the time on this JR experiment is over and i feel like we should pull the plug on it early when we still got a shot of at least going 7-9 with JR were looking at going maybe if were lucky 2-14 because seriously come on he don’t care about the raider nation or about the RAIDERS all he cares about is that he’s getting paid and that’s it if you were watching the game he was smiling right before the game he was all happy anyone that really cares is pissed, or at least not happy, JR was joking around with one of the guys like the raiders were leading the game 41-0. not acceptable that’s why i say pull the plug and give a guy like Gradkowski a chance because he’s second string and obviously he’s gonna try to something good in there because he’s gonna want to keep the job..
knowing the raiders recent history though we will keep JR into like week 7 and then we’ll throw Gradkowski when its too late to do a damn thing, idk man im a fan to the death but im losing faith and so is all of raider nation so we better lose JR as a starter or im just gonna not buy tickets or anything associated with the raiders because we pay there salaries and hell if JR is gonna party win or lose i rather not give my money up at all to a guy like that….

What’s more important…..winning the game or trying to prove Russell is an nfl qb ?
I want to win…..bench him…….I want Charlie Frye to start.
He’s smarter, accurate and won’t turn the ball over.
The defense doesn’t get a pass here either. What kind of gameplan did we have ? halftime adjustments.
    Send pressure…..the defense is boring.

    ADAM,
Ya well I’ve told Raider fans that they should have kept Collins when they let him go. Russell had the game of his life against Norte Dame in the Sugar Bowl and that was it. Russell was descent for LSU that year but not a number one.
Calvin Johnson was the logical choice to be number one but the Raiders had the number one pick. I’m not playing GM but I know what I’m talking about and have expressed that Russell was a bad choice to the closest of my Raider buds.

  51. president of bench jamarcus fan club says: Sep 30, 2009 11:16 PM

Jamarcus has had 3 years, he has clearly not put in the time and especially the effort. Jamarcus lacks the IQ, intensity and command presence needed to be even a good QB. I’m a true Raiders fan but he is not the answer. Start Gradkowski and try to get Tebow in the draft.
