Clinton Portis expected to play

The Redskins should have Clinton Portis in the lineup as they attempt to avoid making Mr. Florio’s bold prediction of a loss to the Lions come to fruition.

Portis has been battling a sprained ankle all week and was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report, but Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that he’ll be in the lineup on Sunday afternoon. Portis has carried the ball 35 times for 141 yards so far this season, although he may cede a few more carries to Ladell Betts because of his tender ankle this week.

That’s good news for the Redskins, although any Portis fans in the Motor City area won’t be able to watch him go thanks to the television blackout of the game.

Yes!! We need all the Redskin help we can get for the Lions to continue their inexorable march towards the all-time consecutive losses record.
Could John Riggins and Sonny Jurgenson come back out of retirement? How about Dexter Manley?
