Favre throws his first pick in purple

It took more than 2.5 games, but it finally happened.

During his first game in the place where for the first time in his career it’s OK to throw the ball to guys wearing purple jerseys, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has chalked up his first interception as a member of the Minnesota team.

But, actually, Favre was throwing the ball to a guy in a purple jersey.  The problem is that receiver Bernard Berrian, who has dropped a couple of passes today, couldn’t handle the pass and it bounced into the air and 49ers cornerback Shawntae Spencer was in position to make the pick.

The Niners lead late in the third quarter, 14-13.

If you saw the end of the Vikes game, you would understand.
Yeah, he is that damn good.

Favre will get confused next week (he is old, after all) and throw picks to the Packers all day long.

  16. Sparrowhawk says: Sep 27, 2009 5:14 PM

If you didn’t get to see Brett’s first interception for the Vikings – don’t worry, there will be plenty more to come.

  17. vikes backer says: Sep 27, 2009 9:34 PM

Favre will step up his game next week against the packers. Yes he is old but can still throw for over 300 yds. His only pick was right where it was supposed to be, in the reciever’s hands. Bernard couldn’t bring it in, tipped it in the air, thus the interception. It wasn’t favre’s fault. Watch for AP to have a great game next monday night. The stage is set, packers your next!

    vikes backer,
Favre won’t get anywhere close to throwing 300 yards against us because let me be the first to inform you that we have 7 interceptions in 3 games.
and are you going to make excuses everytime Favre throws a pick?

  19. Chickenfoot says: Sep 28, 2009 12:21 PM

    Packers 4 life:
He won’t need to. Peterson is going to run all over your pathetic excuse for a run defense.( another 150 yards against….By the Rams!?)
You know, if you even watched the highlights of this game, you could state an opinion. You obviously didn’t, so you come out with your moronic statement.
Berrian muffed the catch, he did it all day.
We were told when Favre had to win us one it wouldn’t happen. Well, IT DID!
