Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been carted off the field in Detroit with a lower leg injury.
Haynesworth had a towel draped over his head and face as the vehicle rolled of the field, and though we didn’t see the injury as it happened, there are few conditions that would lend themselves to such immediate dejection.
Early guess? (And it’s just a guess.) Ruptured Achilles’ tendon.
If so, he’d be out for the year. And even if it’s something less serious, FOX’s Brian Billick made a great point. For a guy so big, any injury to the lower extremities can be very hard to overcome quickly, given the stress that a large body puts on them.
Speaking of stress, the Redskins trail the Lions, 10-0.
UPDATE: Official Redskins blogger Matt Terl says the situation is being described as a right hip injury.
SECOND UPDATE: Amazingly, Haynesworth returned to action. So maybe E.T. or Mr. Miyagi was in the locker room, because Haynesworth had the demeanor of a guy who was done for the day, and longer.
Why guess? Why? You didn’t see it, why even go there? That’s so stupid and pointless.
HA, HA, HA, HA, and don’t forget the…

Wow – didn’t know the Achilles tendon went all the way up to the hip.
How ironic it would be if he needed a new hip, just ask the guy hit hit while speeding recklessly in his sports car.
It’s not a serious injury, he was back in the game in the early 3rd quarter.
We Titans fans miss Fat Albert’s play on the field. But we don’t miss all the injuries he gets…
Money well spent, Dan Snyder. You just got your ass beat by the worst team in NFL history.
Haynesworth has the smell of ‘wuss’ about him. He seems to get ‘serious[‘ injuries almost every game and spends a lot of the time on the sideline during games.
Take 100 million and flush it down the crapper!
