Reid: McNabb, Westbrook should be ready after bye

The kids are all right in Philadelphia.

Led by Kevin Kolb, LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, and Brent Celek, the Eagles rolled over the Chiefs 34-14 at home Sunday.

And when the Eagles return from their Week Four bye, their starting quarterback and running back should be back to lead the team.

Andy Reid said Sunday after the game that he thinks Donovan McNabb and Westbrook will be ready in time to face the Bucs on October 11.

Winning at home against Kansas City may not sound overly impressive, but it was important for Kolb and company to get a split of games without McNabb.  Now they will be in good position, only one loss behind the Giants, heading into October.

The Eagles made the playoffs last year partly because Brad Johnson could not keep the Cowboys afloat while he was in.  For now, Kolb did his job.

Kolb and McCoy’s performance should also give the team confidence that the kids will perform again, if McNabb and Westbrook get hurt again.

I’m a Packers fan, so I don’t follow the Eagles religiously. But Westbrook has always been a very talented player. I’ve always respected his skills and feared him as a weapon when the Eagles play the Pack. But damn, is there any player of his calibur that is injured as much as he is? Has there ever been? Dude can’t stay on the field.

    Kansas City @ Philly
    Bye week
    Tampa Bay @ Philly
    @ Oakland
    @ Washington
Reid can sit McNabb and Westbrook until week 8 to rest them for the playoffs. Looking at their remaining schedule after week 8 I don’t see them making it.
Be fun to hear everyone say how great they are when they are 5-1. Too bad they’ll end up 8-8, maybe 9-7 with a few lucky bounces and no ties.

SmackMyVickUp are you new to watching the NFL?
I’ll give the two reasons for any Giants victory over the Eagles in the last couple of seasons – Plaxico and Burress. He was the Eagle killer.
Now, how about you refresh yourself with the 3 games against the Giants last year.
Game 1 – Eagles lose by 5 to Burress and the G-Men
Games 2 and 3 – utter and total domination by the Eagles. Go look at the score – then remind yourself how many of the Giants points came in garbage time lol.
Cowboys – 44-6, nuff said. If you thought Delomme was bad, wait til Romo comes on over.
    Washington is falling apart.
San Diego is barely eking out victories against crap teams like the Fins and Raiders – how do you think they do against the BEast?
Denver – Cleveland and Oakland, how did they ever beat those powerhouses?!?! They won by fluke in Cincy
49ers may pose a challenge, but get a lead so they can’t run anymore and it should be fine; Eagles have a grat run D
Bears – Eagles were banged up last year, and still almost won
Now go ahead and add that to the fact the Andy Reid’s Eagles always play their best football down the stretch…
Must be a VaGiant or Cowgirl fan, 8-8 LOL

For a group of guys that can’t stand to talk about the past, you sure do a lot of living in it.

You mean like when they went 4-3-1 in the last 8 games last year? Or when they went 3-3 in the last 6 games in ’07? “Best football” is a relative term when discussing the Eagirls, since they’ve never really been the “best team”. I figured you guys would get your mojo back after beating one of the other worst teams in the NFL, the 2 wins in their last 18 games Chefs.

Dildo and Dawkfan – good looking out, I swear these Cowboys fans are boderline retarded and think Romo is a superstar QB in this league.
