Flozell Adams is still tripping

Cowboys tackle Flozell Adams has been tripping opponents in the NFL for a long time, and a measly $12,500 fine for leg whipping Justin Tuck in Week Two isn’t going to stop him from continuing the practice.

We even have visual evidence.

An enterprising Giants fan posted a clip of Adams tripping Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers Monday night in the exact same manor he did to Tuck.  (Thanks to Mike Garafolo for passing the link along.)

It’s unclear if the league office is looking at the same play, and whether it could fine Adams for the third time in as many weeks.

Despite the leg whips and the penalties, Adams is reportedly playing much better this season than a year ago, when he was beset by injuries.  He hasn’t given up a sack and he’s helped the Dallas running game dominate, averaging over 10 yards per carry when they run left, according to ESPNDallas.com.

And Adams apparently is not worried about the NFL’s fines enough to stop the practice of leg whipping.

Either that, or the muscle memory built up over a 12-year career is just too much to overcome.

If you’re getting fined for 3 weeks in the same season for an illegal play that increases the chance of injuring someone, when does the suspensions start?
But can anyone be surprised? This is the same team that was more then happy to have Roy Williams horse collar players week after week.

One of these DE’s should bitch slap him but Julius Mumbles Peppers is too soft to do that. 6’6 285 and a big juicy soft you get the rest.

If i didnt have such a man crush on Romo, I’d want to have Flozells love child.

Nope, leg whipping and tripping are 2 different things – I know thats a technicality, but dont interchange the terms Flo – Thats not correct.

Zaggs…Are you so quick to forget, its America’s Team. Shouldnt they be getting a bailout? This team smells like a combination of Mu gu gai pan and hot trash.

Flo is one of the best. He just needs to stop the tripping.

  7. DildoBaggins says: Sep 29, 2009 7:27 PM

Honestly the league has to do something about this; he’s done it to Tuck, Osi and Peppers in the last two weeks.
How long until he puts a guy out for the season. Some teams should just kick his ass and take the fine just to teach him a lesson.
He’s a hack, he can’t block anymore, so he’s gotta be cheap.

queue all the “Flozell is a dirty slimebag” and “Flozell is a piece of garbage” comments from all the Cowboys haters.
That being said, as a Dallas fan, Flozell can be a dirty SOB. Thankfully he offsets that for us fans by being a beast on run plays.
    @ DildoFaggins
“He’s a hack, he can’t block anymore, so he’s gotta be cheap.”
Yeah, he can’t block, thats why Dallas averages 10+ ypc when they run his direction.

    Flozell was Kung Fu fighting,
    tripping folks fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening,
his getting fined with expert timing.
There were funky Cowgirls from Arlington town,
They were chop blocking up, they were chop blocking down.
It’s an ancient Cowgirl art, and everybody knew their part,
Into a fall from a slip, then Flo’s kickin’ from the hip.

Make it a rule. Then only call it on the Cowboys, similar to the horsecollar. Then watch it on the video later, and fine him, even though the refs didnt make the call on the field. Like they did to the Cowboys in game 1. Or make it a rule, and have him say he’s gonna do it anyway, right steeler fans??

    Per the Dallas Morning News:
“Wade Phillips does not expect that to limit Adams’ work in practice this week in preparation for the Broncos. Good thing too, because he will face Elvis Dumervil, who is second in the NFL with six sacks in three games.
Better the leg warmed up Aunt Flo.

If he got tagged for tripping Osi last week and they didn’t flag him for it, I’m willing to bet he gets tagged again for this one. When all else fails, just kick ‘em in the knees, right, Flo?

  21. VoxVeritas says: Sep 29, 2009 7:52 PM

“How long until he puts a guy out for the season. Some teams should just kick his ass and take the fine just to teach him a lesson.”
It would take an entire team. But then Colombo would step up to help Flo and then you’d have to get a whole other team.
“He’s a hack, he can’t block anymore, so he’s gotta be cheap.”
Can’t block? The man has given up 0 sacks so far. Get real.
#1 rule for any offensive lineman: keep your guy clean no matter what it takes. That means that you get the holding call, you grab him by the cage, you kick him wherever you can reach, you do whatever it takes to keep him from hitting your QB. You guys would know about that if you’d ever played serious, competitive football at a high level. I’m not talking about your crappy high school programs… ok, I AM talking in part about Texas high school football since it’s pretty much on par with your college football programs. Too damn bad that your college teams recruit our players away, otherwise a college team from Texas would win the National Championship every year. But I digress. I’m not talking about YOUR high school programs, but yeah, everything else including college and the pros.
I’d have busted you fantasy football geeks clean out of your shoulder pads and into a cheerleader uniform from the time I played Pop Warner on.

This jackass needs to be suspended. Not only is he risking injury to another player, he’s risking injury to his own sorry a$$. Someone on that team needs to point that out to that moron, and if they won’t, the league should.

OK I’ve looked at the little clip thingy and I have come to the conclusion that Flozell Adams wears shoes, you can’t hold his shoes, size 18 Reeboks, and defenders are simply running into them. It’s like the punts that everybody wants to hit the video screens, only Flo’s shoes are harder to miss.

  28. strctlylo says: Sep 29, 2009 8:07 PM

False starts McGhee is the best, zzzzzzzzzzz..thats why hes also the most penalized for false starts and holds.

  37. NoKoolaidCowboy says: Sep 29, 2009 8:47 PM

And in the end, adams will get paid, romo will get paid, ware will eventually get paid, the fragile running backs will get paid, the high school level secondary will get paid, and captain jones will get paid. All’s well that ends well. This stadium wasn’t built to enhance the football team, it was built for events, no matter what the event, just fill the arena. Thats what it’s all about. You can’t blame them for making money hand over foot. It’s not a feared football team anymore, but if your a businessman, it’s certainly a feared entity. Why would the owner of a stadium care, if he has 100 thousand plus paying customers, and a O lineman trips anybody. I fail to see how it matters

Love the Cowboy defenders. Everyone does it, so lighten up garbage. This simply isn’t true. Everyone does NOT do it. I do think a Patriots player was penalized for this once in the last few weeks, but i rarely see this. Trust me, no one is going to buy the “everyone does it” defense, and not everyone who is upset about his behavior is a hater. The fact is that this is illegal, and is potentially harmful, which is why it isn’t allowed.
Fining is quickly becoming a joke. Player after player is getting fined, and repeatedly you either hear “I am not going to change my ways” come right out of the player’s mouth, or they just go right back to what they are doing. With what most of these guys make, especially the vets, a $12,000+ fine doesn’t even phase them, it is just a little less bling that they can buy, or a little less rain at the strip club this week. Why the league does not come down hard on repeat defenders, or guys that blatantly say they won’t change despite their fines is quite beyond me. Goodell is so inconsistent and so lame that players are openly defying him, and he is letting them. He comes down hard a couple years ago, and quickly realizes he can’t sustain that, and backs WAY off.
What they need is a three strikes rule. When a player endangers another player, he should be fined. They should then be placed under tighter scrutiny for a few months, with their play being analyzed by the league, and they should be fined for each recurrence. After two fines, they should then be suspended for one game for another recurrence. If they still refuse to stop, they should then be suspended for FOUR games. That will help stop certain players from defying the NFL and putting other players at risk. The league makes every attempt to protect their highly paid quarterbacks, and gives everyone else lip service. It is time they showed that they are concerned about the health of ALL players, and shut down these dirty players.

Two plays after that Colombo grabbed his man and threw him down like a ragdoll and got flagged for holding, then got up and laughed in the guy’s face afterward. Maybe if the refs would actually watch the O-line for trips, full on takedowns/tackling, hands to the face we wouldn’t see this.
Seems like the only thing they watch for is holding on to the jersey too long.

“Funny you picked 9, Kolb the BACKUP qb is sitting at 8 20+ passes in ONLY two full games you douche bag.”
And Jason Campbell has 9, publicdouchebag.
    And McNabb has 0.

When they won more Super Bowls than any other NFCE team.

You seem to know a lot about that.

You’re not man enough to hurt Flo so you just keep right on fantasizing about it.

  80. AirlineGuy says: Sep 30, 2009 7:52 AM

    Bitch, bitch, bitch.
That is all you damn yankees are good for. Trying to justify the horribly WEAK injury to that candy arse Tuck.

  81. urinal mint says: Sep 30, 2009 8:41 AM

Guys get tripped and held every single play. If the officials flagged every trip and hold, games would last 6 hours.
So Flozell trips guys… is he the only OL in the league that plays dirty?

  82. kappa08 says: Sep 30, 2009 8:54 AM

I guess it’s not good enough that he’s blessed with size and talent….he has to cheat on top of it…Very American..very “America’s Team”..

  83. gallaghedj311 says: Sep 30, 2009 9:07 AM

For all you Dallas fans (especially the ones with no ties to Texas) May I remind you that 1: 4659 days since the Cowboys last won a playoff game. 2: 44-6? Remember that one? And (and please look this one up) the Eagles are the ONLY team in NFL history to win back to back World Championships and shut out both opponents. Dunno where this whole 0 rings myth comes from…

  84. Branephood says: Sep 30, 2009 9:25 AM

Some of you overgrown vaginas really need to get a clue and some perspective here. Tripping is not even a personal foul for Christs sake. Where’s all the bitching when a player grabs another player by the facemask and throws him to the ground? Players trip over each other all the time, and if Big Flo needs to put a leg out to stop his QB from getting killed then so be it.

  85. VoxVeritas says: Sep 30, 2009 9:39 AM

“the Eagles are the ONLY team in NFL history to win back to back World Championships and shut out both opponents.”
    Nobody cares.
“Dunno where this whole 0 rings myth comes from…”
It’s 0 Super Bowl rings, dooooofus. You know, since the merger? The modern era of football? Nobody gives a crap about anything that happened in the NFL when Truman was president.

  86. VoxVeritas says: Sep 30, 2009 10:05 AM

I see that none of you mental midgets wants to touch the subject of the Panthers taking cheap shots on two successive drives immediately before Flo decided to get a little trippy with Peppers.

Vox, no need to go back to Truman.
“Nobody gives a crap about anything that happened in the NFL when Truman was president.”
Any thing that happened over 10 years ago is ancient history in sports.
Tony Romo was 16 the last time the Cowboys won a playoff game. Jason Witten and DeMarcus Ware were 14.
Twenty-four NFL franchises have at least one playoff victory since the Cowboys’ last postseason win.

give it up, you lost this arguement

  90. VoxVeritas says: Sep 30, 2009 11:00 AM

jeez lxref26, if you’re gonna follow me around all day could you tell me if I sufficiently washed my asscrack this morning? By the way, it’s “argument”. Don’t ever question my education again.
“Vox, no need to go back to Truman.”
But back to Truman is exactly where your boy went.
“Any thing that happened over 10 years ago is ancient history in sports.”
That’s an arbitrary window of time. You say 10 years because that’s approximately when you became an Eagirls fan.
“Tony Romo was 16 the last time the Cowboys won a playoff game. ”
Your father was but a young child the last time the Eagirls won a championship.

i’m sure he doesn’t care about the fines. jerry probably pays them for him out of a “do whatever it takes” slush fund.

  94. gallaghedj311 says: Sep 30, 2009 12:35 PM

Maybe you don’t care Vox. But implying that no one cares couldn’t be further from the truth. Just trying to educate you, my friend…

  95. pubicreign says: Sep 30, 2009 1:52 PM

Well Vox, to shed some information on your turd o-lineman…Your Girls came in ranked at a “surprising” 1st place when it comes to offensive penalties in the 08′ season. (64/462 yrds). Your ovverated Flozzel believe it or not made the ESPN “all flag team” and is on a steady pace to earn that title once more this year…with his fines already racking up to roughly $25,000 currently this season. (Tripping Tuck, kicking Osi in the 4th, and a recent fine of $7,500 for kicking Peppers in the recent “Exciting” win you guys had Monday. This dude is trash, if you could win trips to Hawaii for the PB over penalties he would be rollin G5 style.

Vox Veritas is a disgrace to Cowboys fans.
I hate that he cheers for my favorite team.
