On Sunday night, Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney heard something “pop” in his leg.
And so he’ll miss a couple of games as the thing that popped heals.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Freeney will miss 2-3 weeks due to the quad injury, which supposedly occurred as Cardinals tackle Levi Brown pulled Freeney’s facemask during Sunday night’s 31-10 win by Indy.
The Colts have a bye on October 18, which means that Freeney would miss two games — at home against the Seahawks and at Tennessee.
An eighth-year veteran, Freeney has been durable for most of his career. Beyond a foot injury (also coming on a Sunday night) that knocked him out of the last seven games in 2007, Freeney has missed only two career regular-season games.
And beyond prison, Michael Vick has not missed any games since late 2006. Is this the spin zone?
