In a somewhat surprising move, the New Orleans Saints have announced that left tackle Jammal Brown has been placed on injured reserve.
Brown had hernia surgery in August and hip surgery earlier this month. His earliest possible return date was October 25.
Jermon Bushrod has been taking Brown’s place.
To take Brown’s place on the roster, the Saints signed offensive lineman Nick Leckey.
Brown, a two-time Pro Bowler, was a first-round pick in 2005.
So far it’s looking like they aren’t going to miss him. They’re playing some really good ball.
Never mind the Hernia & Hip, let’s talk about the most important H…………Hair!!!
They WILL MISS Brown. Next to QB, LT is the most important piece of the offense. Bushrod will be tested.
Jermond Bushrod was replaced with Zach Strief during the WIN against the Bills. No drop-off in production. He’s a good tackle, but needs to cut down on the false start penalties. Who Dat!!!!
I was referring to Jammal Brown with the false start penalties.
Bushrod played at Towson U, which is a small school in Baltimore and he was the anchor of their line when they played well with a high octane offense albeit not Div 1 football.
The guy has a lot of talent and good size for a tackle. It wouldn’t surprise me if there isn’t a whole lot of drop off if he becomes the starter over Jammal Brown.
