Aaron Ross likely out, other injured Giants getting healthy

Giants cornerback Aaron Ross suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury on Wednesday, which caused him to miss practice on Thursday and will likely leave him on the sidelines for the fourth straight game on Sunday.

“It just didn’t feel right,” said Ross. “I tried to go out there, but the leg is still not ready yet, and I have to be smart.”

The Giants defense hasn’t missed Ross through the first three weeks, and that probably won’t change much when they face off with the Chiefs on Sunday. Terrell Thomas has done a fine job opposite Corey Webster and indications are that Kevin Dockery will make his regular season debut after missing the first three games with his own hamstring woes.

Defensive end Justin Tuck went through a full practice on Thursday, a strong sign that he’ll be in the lineup on Sunday. Coach Tom Coughlin said that rookie wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, out since the first week with a foot injury, “did pretty much everything. There was no limitation on him.”

So, in general, it’s good news on the injury front for the Giants. Or bad news for the Chiefs, depending on your point of view.
