New sod for FedEx Field coming next week

After U2 played at Soldier Field last month, the sod was replaced before the next Bears game.

After U2 played at FedEx Field Tuesday night, the sod was not replaced before Sunday’s Bucs-Redskins game.

But the Redskins have announced that the sod will be replaced after the game.

“Replacement was scheduled at this time after two concerts and a soccer match, coupled with four home games (regular season and preseason) were anticipated to take a toll on the field,” the team said in a release.

Until then, things could get interesting on Sunday, especially if there’s rain in Landover.

The chance of rain in DC is zero percent. Same as the chance of anybody scoring more than 2 touchdowns.

    Nice Super Bowl pick, Florio.

I wonder the carbon footprint of a U2 concert? I mean the trash, the gas of the people driving to one. The electricity to run a stadium like that. Man for a bunch of “green” save the earth type hippies they sure do a good job of using reaources eh.

Just what the Skins need. Another excuse, besides the Press being against them, if they lose.

There were some bad slips at Soldier Field during the game. Hard to tell if it was due to the new sod, grass always looks bad there. Makes for good football though.

    Hey chapnsty:
Actually, U2 is about Africa, not the “green” movement. I highly doubt they give a shit about their “carbon footprint”.

I am sure the skins will play much better on that new turf
That has been the issue all this time bad grass
    Zorn has been smoking it
