In theory, Dolphins receiver Ted Ginn was worth a top ten pick because he had dual talents as a wide receiver and a return man.
In reality, Ginn lost his punt return job because he was tentative and then lost his kick return job because of performance. The Dolphins have used Ginn exclusively as a wideout the last two games, and his play has been spotty.
He set a career-high with 11 catches on Monday Night Football two weeks ago, but failed to haul in a pass that could have won the game. In his other two games this year, he’s totaled two catches for 26 yards.
The Dolphins are considering using Ginn as a returner again, though, because his replacements haven’t lit the football field on fire.
With Buffalo’s starting safeties both out Sunday, this is a game that begs for Ginn to make a big play on offense.
But Miami could desperately use big plays any way they can find it, and a return to Ginn on returns may give them the best chance on special teams.
Ironic that those FinFans who wanted the team to draft Brady Quinn thought Ginn would be a bust and those that wanted Ginn over Quinn thought that Quinn would be a bust.
Turns out they were both right.
Seems like he might be stuck thinking about that Monday night drop. Well, he should be. 0-3 really don’t have much hope with Pennington out.
Still waiting to see Parcells work his magic.
While no one will come right out and say it, Ginn is a coward on the field (there….I did). The reason his was moved from returns (the MAIN reason Cam CaMORON gave as taking him at #9) is he does not have the attitude or guts to take the hard hit while struggling for more yards or facing the kamikaze defenders coming at him at he beats feet to the sideline.
It should be obvious to anyone the he does whatever he can to avoid contact and goes to the ground or runs out of bounds. He also gets the “dropsies” as a WR because he seems to be thinking more about the hit than the catch. He has hardly no yards after catch (YAC) and that tells a lot.
When we drafted Ginn, we drafted his family.
Somewhere, Cam Cameron is getting teary-eyed thinking about the possibility of reuniting him with John Beck.
The bills are so banged up, if you’re a fan and you’re at the game, don’t be surprised if they suit you up and put you in.
The key to this game is how the Bills OL plays.
