Woodson practices, Clifton doesn't

Some of our readers who have a soft spot for blocks of soft cheeses the size or car batteries have complained about our decision to focus on the supposed foot injury that has limited Vikings quarterback Brett Favre in practice prior to Monday night’s showdown with the Packers.

We’ve mentioned the status of the Vikings players, but we’ve ignored the question of whether and to what extent Green Bay players with black-and-blue areas on their bodies did or didn’t work with their teammates.

Though the full injury report is available on the front page of the site, we’ll make it easier for our friends in Wisconsin who would love to see their favorite team injure more than Favre’s foot.

Cornerback Charles Woodson has a foot injury, too.  He didn’t practice Thursday, but he returned Friday, on a limited basis.

Left tackle Chad Clifton hasn’t practiced either day due to a sprained ankle.

The mild surprise on Friday was that defensive lineman B.J. Raji (ankle) and defensive end Johnny Jolly (abdomen) showed up on the report as limited participants in practice.  Neither player was on Thursday’s report.

The best news for the Packers?  Receiver Greg Jennings fully participated in both days of practice, despite a wrist injury.

The final report will come out today, with the probable/questionable/doubtful labels applied.

Next Week’s injury report? Favre listed as questionable with a factured neck, broken vagina and severely bruised ego.

Maybe you need to write it in crayon for them too.

It’s nice that you finally admit who your favorite team is after all these years Florio. it’s just a shame it had to be the dreaded purple.

Wow man that was almost funny, you unoriginal SOB.

Packers plan on retiring Favre themselves. No more waffling, the masses rejoice.
    Next week’s injury report…
The nfl and profootballtalk.com, can they survive w/o Favre?

A lot of people hate Ted Thompson but you have to admit Charles Woodson was 1 of the best free agent signings of the past 4-5 years, people thought he was finished and all he’s done is continue to establish himself as 1 of the top corners in the game. And he is an Ed Reed like playmaker on the ball.

yeah, cause we all know that vikings fans are known for their intelligence and they never bitch and moan about their team’s coverage on this site. you act like packers fans are stupid for wanting coverage on the main page, all the while you write daily love letters to your mistress brett favre that we all have to read to get to the good news.

  10. Plankshelmet says: Oct 3, 2009 10:36 AM

Hey Jamesz23. I Will agree that Woodson was a great free agent signing but please don’t mention his name in the same sentence as Ed Reed. That’s a stretch even for someone with the football IQ of a Packer Fan. BTW, Al Harris is washed up so Packers better hope that a 36 year old Woodson can hold up the entire season.

Well, it is PFTtalk, not Pro Vikes talk or Pro Eagles talk. However, I know you gotta have those clicks so you gotta write about teams with passionate fans (or controversy), thus Pack, Vikes, Bears, Eagles, Redskins & Cowboys.
IN all fairness I think a pretty decent job is done here re: all things football. A little too much interfected opinion sometimes though.

But smokesome, packers fans are stupid. That is the point of this article. Florio reads the comments enough to know how retarded most of you guys here are. The reason there aren’t many Packers articles is that nobody outside of your own fans gives a damn about that team. And you guys make more comments in articles about the Vikes than articles about your own team.
Get it? No? Over your head I suppose.

Clifton is out for Sunday according to the Journal Sentinel. Jared Allen is going to bust Durwood Colledge right in the mouth. Karen Rodgers will be running for her life.

Florio loves the tickle he gets from Chilly’s grotesque beard.

  15. footballrulz says: Oct 3, 2009 11:29 AM

If this is a duplicate forgive me-sometimes the time it takes for a post to hit is really annoying–
This is PFT-notPro Vikes Talk or Pro Eagles talk. Course they do need their clicks which is why they write about teams with passionate fans (Packs, Vikes, Bears, Eagles, Redskins,Cowboys). Or teams with big controversies. Or teams that suck.
Overall, I think a decent job is done here with all things football although with a lttle too much interjected opinion at times.

A football fan with an IQ should know that Chuckwood is 32. Great point you made tool.

Outside of Vox who has to comment on everything, who on this site truly cares at all about any team other than their own?

oh sando, your need to question someone else’s intelligence is so sad. i hope for your sake that you’re young and you still have a chance to grow out of your insecurities

  19. Cartunist23 says: Oct 3, 2009 11:46 AM

I don’t know how anybody can insult the football IQ of packer fans. What you’ve done is just establish your own stereotypes. What else do Packer fans have to do? I grew up in Wisconsin, talking and thinking about football is the state’s favorite pastime. It’s difficult to devote that much of your time to something and not know alot about it.

“please don’t mention his name in the same sentence as Ed Reed. That’s a stretch ”
exactly how is this a “stretch”? all woodson does is intercept passes and make plays. just like ed reed.
    not exactly a stretch.
    to date since 2006
    tot takl, woodson=206 reed =148
    sacks woodson=4 reed =1
    stf woodson =6 reed=8
    FF woodson=4 reed=2
    fum rec both=4
    pass def woodson= 49 reed = 39
    INT BOTH=22
    TDs woodson 7 reed 5
so whats up? looking at the stats it looks like woodson is BETTER, but it hink we can at least agree now that their names are definetly NOT in different catagories.

    footballrulz..
I don’t recall agreeing with you very much but on today’s posting I agree with you (twice actually.) I’ve called this site internet fish wrap a few times, but for the most part, you are correct , they do a decent job. It’s all about hits and your list of teams and articles about them does create reactions that continue to stir the football populace.

  22. jamesz23 says: Oct 3, 2009 12:50 PM

Plankshelmet your wrong look at the stats provided by jeremiah. You should check your IQ.
And for the person who said no one cares about the Packers outside of Wisconsin that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve read on this site & thats saying a lot.

You have nothing else better to do then troll Packer posts? Trust me, you will be crying your eyes out after Brett Favre gets flattened like roadkill on Monday Night.
and I am guessing your 5 years old right?

  24. nerd says: Oct 3, 2009 2:01 PM

I don’t compare Woodson to Ed Reed. I compare him to Reggie White.

  25. footballrulz says: Oct 3, 2009 2:05 PM

    thanx tufar
