Chiefs-Giants one-liners

WR Steve Smith lit up the Chiefs secondary for 11 catches, 134 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-16 Giants victory.

After two and a half sackless games, the Giants rang up five sacks in the second half.

Giants WR Hakeem Nicks returned to the lineup after missing two games with a sprained foot and scored his first NFL touchdown.

Said Giants DE Justin Tuck of winning on the road for the third consecutive week, “It just says we play good on the road. It’s just the mentality coach [Tom] Coughlin
has instilled in us.”

Giants LB Brian Kehl recovered a Chiefs fumble on the opening kickoff and successfully fielded the onside kick that the Chiefs tried to start the second half.

When asked what the difference was between his team and the Giants, Chiefs RB Larry Johnson simply said “Ego.”

Bill Williamson of ESPN.com thinks Johnson might be on the verge of losing the Chiefs starting tailback job. 

Chiefs S Jarrad Page felt that he didn’t deserve an unnecessary roughness penalty for a hit on Giants WR Steve Smith.

Chiefs TE Sean Ryan established career highs with a 43-yard catch and five catches for 58 yards overall.

Said Chiefs coach Todd Haley, “Change is not fun. We’ve got to be better in all areas. That’s clear. Our sideline operation needs to improve. That
was evident to me in that game, as far as wasting a time out late, guys running on and off the field. Those are things
we can control and come down to us executing the way we’re supposed to operate on game day. We’ve got a big job and
we’re going to continue working.”
