Crabtree heading to San Fran, and that's news to the Niners

Deion Sanders, as it turns out, was onto something.

Sanders said on NFLN’s GameDay Final, “Crabtree may be on his way.  I’m just sayin’.”

According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, Crabtree left the Tampa earlier today to travel to San Francisco to renew talks with the 49ers.

Per a league source, that’s news to the 49ers.  As of the early afternoon Pacific time, the team had heard nothing from Crabtree or his agent, Eugene Parker.

So, apparently, Parker’s current strategy is to entice the Niners to call him up via Deion’s hint and a leak of Crabtree’s itinerary, in the hopes of getting more than what the team put on the table some three months ago.

As we reported earlier today, the 49ers have still had no communications with Crabtree, the team was unaffected by Deion’s statements, and the franchise is feeling no pressure to get him signed.

Advantage, San Fran.

Hemust be running out of money from his endorsment deal. 700k don’t get you what it used to , especially in California. Too bad he already blew his rookie year, and the fans are down on him. He better be good fast or face the wrath. Even T.O. took 5 years to be this much of an ass hole.

Is he flying coach or first class? That might tell you something.

Join the party Crabtree. You still can make an impact. Prove your value to the franchise, you will get what you want in return.
Simply, with him on the field the offense opens up more avenues for other players. No more 8-9 men in the box. If he signs this week, Look for him to be on the field and making his debut against the Texans.

what a loser! Now he wants in because they are winning, he thought they were going to be losing without him!!!!! What a freakin’ loser!!!!
Keep on Singletary – you know how to win, you did it on the field with the ’85 Bears and now you are teaching a team how to do it!
You don’t need lames like this on your team.

  5. rjgreen3 says: Oct 5, 2009 6:02 PM

Niners’ think about this: Crabass has been a pain there already and you haven’t paid him any $. Do you really want to give him any $ and be obligated to this pain in the a#* for years to come? Or do you want to lose your coach for breaking a DIVA in half? He is a legend in his own mind. LET HIM GO BACK INTO THE DRAFT!

  6. daffy87 says: Oct 5, 2009 6:04 PM

If he does sign, the Niners should have “Punch Crabtree in the groin night”.

  7. WashingtonRedstorms says: Oct 5, 2009 6:07 PM

Jim Brown words must of scared him. We all know Jimmy treats humans with respect.

  8. SF Saints Fan says: Oct 5, 2009 6:14 PM

If he doesn’t sign this week I would think that the Niners will start pulling money off the table. He has missed 25% of his first season plus all of training camp and all of the pre-season “practice” games (one of the biggest rip offs is sports). The Niners need Crabtree LESS than Crabtree needs the Niners.
Sign now Crabree or sign for less money in a few weeks or wait until next year to get drafted again. If you do that, chances are you will get drafted LOWER than where you were drafted this year. On top of that, just think, you could get drafted by the Raiders….. What “good luck” that would be. HA!!
The Niners are a class organization with good coaching in a very week division and lots of good weather games, just think how much fun it would be playing in the AFC or NFC North.

  9. BossIxta says: Oct 5, 2009 6:17 PM

Does this mean we’re superbowl contenders now?
    No, of course not.
We were already conteders to begin with!!!!

  10. Twiz says: Oct 5, 2009 6:17 PM

Screw Crabtree. The Niners are doing fine without him. The best thing the Niners could do is tell him to take a hike and suck up losing the draft pick on this waste.
That being said, I think they need to make a change in the draft process. If a player like Crabtree doesn’t sign, they get some sort of compensation the following year.

  11. this class sucks says: Oct 5, 2009 6:19 PM

    @rjgreen3
Ok Niner fans relax. We drafted Crabtree because we thought he could make a big impact in our franchise, not a big impact in one season. We have the money available, him going back into the draft solves nothing, we get 0 compensation. The best case scenario involves us getting either Crabtree or somthing for him.

  12. SmackMyVickUp says: Oct 5, 2009 6:25 PM

Waitin for San Fran to pull offer off table and give him league minimum for his rookie year. Watch Singletary sit him for a few games.

  13. This is not news says: Oct 5, 2009 6:26 PM

    He deserves to be signed….
and then traded to the Browns.

  14. DeadRed says: Oct 5, 2009 6:28 PM

If Crabtree comes in to talk the first question from the Niners should be “who tampered”. Sign him and get a pick from the violators. Take that pick and get more quality Singletary type players next year.
We will forgive Crabtree if he is good, if he sucks he might not make it home one night…

  15. BossIxta says: Oct 5, 2009 6:29 PM

ok this just donned (spell check) on me…
how is crabtrees ankle? could he be sitting out to let it heal and both parties know about this, and thats why there’s no rush in signing him?
if no money is being reduced because he’s missing games, does this mean that his deal is actually worth more now? (its like me getting paid for a month that i didnt work)
    help me out here ladys

  16. daffy87 says: Oct 5, 2009 6:47 PM

Nah Cleveland doesn’t want him…Mangini met with him pre-draft and then called him a ego maniacal diva and everyone said Mangini had it all wrong….guess he had it right.

  17. bearsrule says: Oct 5, 2009 6:47 PM

I’m now rooting against this kid. I hope he screws it up and cost himself millions. There comes a time when enough is enough.

  18. Jimsjam33 says: Oct 5, 2009 6:58 PM

What a mistake ! Mike Singletary takes a bunch of losers and teaches them about honor and how it feels to win when you put out maximum effort . . Crabtree could have been there on the ground floor and learned about class and being a true professional .
I hope he signs , not that the 49ers need him right now , but so he learns to be a man and not a whining kid aka Ryan Leaf .
I’m not a 49er fan , but Mike Singletary was a first class player and now he’s a first class coach . Crabtree might want a little of that to rub off on him . He should be so fortunate !

  19. BeerBarron says: Oct 5, 2009 7:00 PM

From what I read back in training camp M(im into fashion)C was a hard worker and wanted to prove he was healthy and contribute to the club this year.. The holdout is part greed on his part/his agents and bad advice from those around him(lugnut or whatever his buddy’s name is).. If he works most fans will forgive him after the first game winning great catch and its good for the 9ers… If hes a bust.. this holdout makes sense as he was just playing a hand of $15 poker..

    =============
Your NFC Worst party is officially over. Your next 7 games? Not against the NFC Worst, which means 7 straight losses: Atlanta, Houston, Indy, Titans, Bears, Pack, Jags. 49er’s are already on the clock for the 2010 NFL draft
Thank you for participating in the 2009 NFL football tournament 49ers, time to prepare to draft someone you can’t sign in 2010, LOL!!

PFFTTT!! Sure, if you consider an immature snot nosed 27 year old president who doesn’t know the first thing about football, with motives to try and screw San Francisco out of having their own team and move them to Santa Clara. Even our legislature put an infraction to have them blocked. Other than that, yeah, class organization.

If this is true, this is how it happened.
The sky parted. A giant beam of light shown down from the heavens unto Crabapple’s head. And a booming voice said “Son, you are a stupid asshole”!
Then and only then did the semblance of a thought go off in Crabapple’s head – even though it was the equivalent of a super-tiny Christmas tree lightbulb!

You have zero clue. One idiot member of the State Legislature TRIED to pass a bill to block Pro Franchises in California from moving less than 90 miles or some such stupidity, but it never got off the ground and rightly so. The City and County of SF had their chances.

Thats the CA way. Pass laws to make things right, irregardless of anything else. I am surprised they just don’t tax the rich more to pay for a new stadium. Its been working for everything else over there.
